The Jharkhand Judiciary Syllabus 2026 for the Civil Judge (Junior Division) exam, conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), has three stages. 

• Prelims is a 100-mark, two-hour objective paper. It covers General English, General Knowledge, the CPC, the CRPC/BNSS 2023, the IEA/BSA  2023, the Contract Act and the IPC/BNS 2023, with no negative marking.
• Mains has four descriptive papers of 100 marks each, three hours per paper. 
• Interview (viva-voce) carries 100 marks. Prelims marks do not count towards the final merit.

Jharkhand Judiciary Syllabus 2026 for Prelims 

The first stage of Jharkhand Judiciary examination is the preliminary test that is conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC). This examination is an MCQ-based, offline test. The Jharkhand Judiciary prelims exam seven subjects in one 100-mark objective paper of two hours, with no negative marking. JPSC's official prelims syllabus lists:

• The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.

Jharkhand Judiciary Syllabus 2026 for Interview

The Jharkhand Judiciary viva-voce is a 100-mark oral examination with no fixed syllabus. Candidate must score at least 25% (General) or 20% (SC/ST/EBC/BC) to be selected. A candidate below this minimum is not selected, whatever their Mains score.

The interview board typically evaluates:

• Law you studied for the Mains: Rore concepts from CPC, CrPC/BNSS, Evidence/BSA, Contract and IPC/BNS, and how they apply to a fact situation.
• Current legal developments: Recent Supreme Court and Jharkhand High Court judgments and new legislation such as the BNS, BNSS and BSA.
• Candidates background: Law school, practice experience, home district and why you want to join the judiciary.
• Judicial temperament: How Candiadate would handle a difficult litigant, pressure in court or a conflict of interest.
• Jharkhand awareness: The state's courts, districts and social context.
