NCHMCT JEE Selection Process

NCHMCT JEE Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed Intermediate(10+2) from CBSE or any other recognized board with English as one of the core subjects. 
  • Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examinations can also appear in JEE on a provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or it's equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling
  • Candidates should be below 25 years of age.
  • The offer of admission is subject to verification of original certificates/documents at the time of admission. If any candidate is found ineligible at a later date even after admission to an Institute, his/her admission will stand cancelled.

The selection process of the BHM programme will depend on the participating institutions. Candidates will have to register directly to the website of participating institutes to enrol in their programme. Admission will be on the basis of merit of AIMA UGAT score.

IIHM eCHAT

International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) conducts Electronic Common Hotel Admission Test (eCHAT) to offer admission to candidates in hotel management programmes on offer by the institute. 

IIHM eCHAT Selection Process

A cumulative score based on an aptitude test, group discussion, and personal interview round will be used for the preparation of merit list and candidates will be granted admissions on the basis of merit in the list.

  • Candidates will be required to take an Aptitude Test eCHAT administered by IIHM as a part of the selection process, which will assess the candidate's aptitude, logical reasoning skills, and English language proficiency.
  • To advance to the next round, candidates must acquire a minimum qualifying score as determined by IIHM cut-off.
  • Candidates who pass this exam are eligible to take the Group Discussion and the Personal Interview (PI) round.
  • Candidates who pass the Aptitude Test will be invited to the Personal Interview phase. The interview assesses the students' personality, communication skills, general awareness, and persuasion abilities.
  • Candidates will then be required to appear for the IIHM counselling. The college and seat allotment of a candidate will be done on the basis of the merit list of IIHM eCHAT.
  • Candidates will then have to complete the admission formalities of the respective IIHM that has been allocated to them.

IIHM eCHAT Exam Pattern 2021

The IIHM eCHAT exam pattern was created to evaluate a candidate's overall personality as well as their analytical and logical abilities. Because the exam is for admission to specialized hotel management courses, the qualities required for hotel management courses include good personality traits, fast thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Therefore, the structure and syllabus of the IIHM eCHAT test have been designed to identify applicants who possess the aforementioned skills.

  • There are a total of 50 multiple-choice questions to be solved in a duration of 60 minutes.

IPU CET BHMCT

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University(GGSIPU) conducts the IP University Common Entrance Test(CET) for admission of eligible candidates in the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology programme of IP university affiliated colleges. 

  • The four-year programme Bachelor degree in Hotel Management and catering technology (BHMCT) is offered by two institutes namely Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute Of Hotel Management & Catering Technology and Delhi Technical Campus.
  • The IPU BHM programme is 4 years long and provides the industrial and operational skill sets required in the field of hospitality so that the candidate can get acclimatized with the environment of the market.
  • The institute offers campus recruitment on a regular basis to its students. Some of the hotels that recruit candidates of the hotel management courses from IPU are: Taj hotels, resorts and palaces, IHG (InterContinental Hotel Group) etc.

PUTHAT Eligibility

  • Candidates should have passed Intermediate(10+2) from CBSE or any other recognized board with English as one of the core subjects. 
  • Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% in 10+2 qualifying examinations.
  • For SC/ST/BC/PwD Categories the students should have obtained a minimum of 45% in the qualifying examinations with English as one of the Compulsory Subjects.
  • Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examinations can also appear in UGAT on a provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling

Oberoi Group of Hotels offers a three-year hospitality management job training programme at Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development , as well as a correspondence Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Studies from IGNOU through its STEP(Systematic Training and Education Programme) programme.

Oberoi STEP Eligibility Criteria 

Before filling out the Oberoi STEP application form, candidates should make sure they meet the qualifying requirements. The Oberoi STEP eligibility conditions are listed below.

  • They must have completed the 12th grade from an Indian board accredited by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
  • Candidates applying for the Oberoi STEP must be between the age of 18 and 20 in the year in which they would commence their studies.
  • Candidates must have received at least 71 percent in their 10th grade. Those who passed the CBSE board's 10th grade must have received a B1 grade or an 8 grade point.

Oberoi STEP Selection Process 

Once the application process is over, candidates will have to appear for the interview round. There will not be any entrance exam for Oberoi STEP.

After the interview round, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the interview round. The result of Oberoi STEP will be sent to the selected candidates on their registered email address. 

Oberoi STEP Interview Round

The Oberoi STEP interview has three rounds. Candidates can check the details for the three rounds for Oberoi STEP below:

  • Phase 1: Candidates are placed into groups of 15-20 people for this round. All of the groups will be required to complete some activities and tasks that have been assigned to them. This phase will test candidates' communication and presenting skills.
  • Phase 2: Those that cleared the first round will be considered for the second round. Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear before a panel of faculty members for a one-on-one assessment. Candidates will be judged on their personality, conduct, and hospitality knowledge in this round.
  • Phase 3: Those who passed Stage 1 and 2 will be invited to participate in the interview round. Candidates will be required to participate in a different set of activities. The interview will be conducted by the panel. Candidates will be judged on their conduct, skill set, knowledge, and personality in this round.

IHM Aurangabad Entrance Exam

IHM AEE is a university-level entrance exam administered by IHM Aurangabad. The exam is held for admission to undergraduate courses offered by the college.

IHM Aurangabad Entrance Exam Eligibility

Before filling out the application form, candidates should ensure that they meet the IHM Aurangabad 2021 entrance test eligibility criteria. 

  • Candidates should have passed Intermediate(10+2) from CBSE or any other recognized board with English as one of the core subjects. 
  • Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% in 10+2 qualifying examinations.
  • Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examinations can also appear in UGAT on a provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted at the time of counselling

IHM Aurangabad Selection Process

A cumulative score based on statement of purpose, profile exam, group discussion and personal interview round will be used for the preparation of merit list and candidates will be granted admissions on the basis of merit in the list.

  • After filling the application form candidates will have to appear for an electronic profiling online test. Candidates will receive the link of EPT on their registered email id, and the result of the assessment will be provided to the aspirants after the successful completion of the exam.
  • After EPT candidates have to write a Statement of Purpose of 1500 words. The topic of the statement of purpose is “perspective on the role education at IHM-A would play in shaping my future by creating a vibrant personality to succeed in the hospitality world”.
  • In the next step of admission candidates need to appear for a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview (PI) round.
  • The main aim of these rounds is to evaluate the candidates on the basis of their General Awareness, Communication Skills, Service Orientation, Analytical Skills and fit for the curriculum. 
  • Candidates are advised to follow the dress code provided below while appearing for the GD/ PI rounds. 
  • Ladies – (formal attire) Sarees or business suits, full-sleeved shirt, formal ensembles, scarves and formal shoes.
  • Gentlemen – (formal attire) Suit, jacket or blazer, full-sleeved shirt, formal trousers, necktie and formal shoes.
  • Candidates who have applied for admission to the Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad will be shortlisted on the basis of the following criteria.

UP CET BHMCT

The Uttar Pradesh Common Entrance Test (UPCET), formerly known as the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (UPSEE), is a state-level entrance examination held for admission to a variety of undergraduate courses in colleges affiliated with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). 

It is an Aptitude Test conducted to assess candidates General Awareness required for admission to the BHMCT course.

UP CET BHMCT Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the UP CET BHMCT programmes offered by Uttar Pradesh University will be based solely on the candidate's performance in the Common Entrance Test.

An All India Rank will be assigned to a candidate based on his or her performance in the UP CET. There is no group discussion or personal interview and admission is exclusively granted based on merit and rank.

UP CET BHMCT Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the application procedure, individuals must meet the general UP CET eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Candidates must have completed their intermediate/Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board/Institute in Uttar Pradesh or any other Indian state.
  • They should also have passed in the individual subjects of Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science/Technical Vocational Subject/Engineering Drawing without grace and must have obtained an aggregate of at least 50% in the three subjects.
  • Candidates who have completed a three-year course diploma in Architecture that has been approved by the State/Central Government are also eligible to apply if they have completed the diploma course without grace and have a grade point average of at least 50%.
