The University of Delhi offers a full-time LLM program with a course duration of two and three years programs at the postgraduate level.

Delhi University LLM General Eligibility Criteria 2022

Before comprehending the DU LLM course duration 2022, let’s check the DU eligibility criteria to understand if you can take the test. 

Candidates seeking admission must compulsorily write the DU LLM examination, and admission to the course will be finalized based on their performance and overall score at the entrance exam.

  • Candidates must have a 3/5-year LL.B degree with a minimum of 50% in graduation.
  • Students from the SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) are given a 10% relaxation, requiring 45% minimum marks.
  • The applicant must have taken the Delhi University entrance exam and must possess valid scores.

DU LLM Course Structure and Duration 2022

The DU LLM is a 2 and 3-year course that is divided into 4 semesters of 6 months each. 

You complete 82 credits in order to complete a course and receive a degree.

The majority of the subjects in LLM are electives for a two-year LL.M course. There are very few core subjects. 

Subjects in each course are as follows: 

  • Semester-I has two subjects
  • Semester-II has one
  • Semester-III has no subjects
  • Semester-IV consists solely of a Dissertation

LLM Placement and Prospects at Delhi University

Law or any other course at DU has good placement. The training and placement cell ensures that every student is placed. Moot courts, mock debates, and other activities are used to train students at the Faculty of Law. 

They can participate in internships offered by the university. Candidates pursuing an LL.M. are open to working in regional courts, high courts, and other settings.

During the LLM program, candidates must choose a Law specialization in which they want to pursue a career. As a result, candidates can pursue their LLM degree in a variety of specializations, including Civil Law, Tax Law, Criminal Law, Corporate Law, Commercial Law, International Law, Labour Law, Real Estate Law, Patent Law, Competition Law, Intellectual Property Law, and so on.

After completing an LLM program at DU, students can also pursue advanced education and a Ph.D. Studying for a Ph.D. can open new doors for them. For example, they could pursue a lectureship or become judges directly in the courts.

Yes, LLM is available in DU. Students wanting to get into DU for LLM must sit for DU LLM exntrance exam.
