भारत के केंद्रीय मंत्री द्वारा लॉन्च किया गया इंडिया वाटर पिच-पायलट-स्केल चैलेंज'

• कायाकल्प और शहरी परिवर्तन के लिए मंत्रालय के अटल मिशन (AMRUT) 2.0 के तहत, केंद्रीय आवास और शहरी मामलों (MoHUA) और पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस मंत्री श्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने 'इंडिया वाटरपिच-पायलट-स्केल स्टार्ट-अप चैलेंज' लॉन्च किया। यह 1 अक्टूबर, 2021 को माननीय प्रधान मंत्री के अमृत 2.0 के औपचारिक शुभारंभ, लखनऊ में हितधारक चर्चा (एमओएचयूए के आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव उत्सव के दौरान) और 12 अक्टूबर, 2021 को मिशन की कैबिनेट की मंजूरी के बाद आया है।
• भारत के माननीय प्रधान मंत्री के दृष्टिकोण को ध्यान में रखते हुए, 'प्रौद्योगिकी भागीदारों' के रूप में स्टार्टअप्स को शामिल करने के लिए प्रौद्योगिकी उप-मिशन को अमृत 2.0 के तहत कैबिनेट द्वारा अनुमोदित किया गया है।
• मिशन का लक्ष्य नवाचार और डिजाइन के माध्यम से जल/उपयोग किए गए जल क्षेत्र में स्टार्टअप्स की मदद करना है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप दीर्घकालिक आर्थिक विकास और रोजगार सृजन होता है।
• मंत्रालय इस परियोजना के हिस्से के रूप में 20 लाख रुपये नकद और परामर्श प्राप्त करने के लिए 100 स्टार्ट-अप का चयन करेगा।

पुणे में स्थापित होगा भारत का पहला मेडिकल सिटी 'इंद्रायणी मेडिसिटी'

• महाराष्ट्र की राज्य सरकार ने एक छत के नीचे सभी प्रकार के विशेष उपचार प्रदान करने के लिए पुणे में देश का पहला चिकित्सा शहर 'इंद्रायणी मेडिसिटी' स्थापित करने की घोषणा की है। यह पुणे के खेड़ तालुका में 300 एकड़ भूमि क्षेत्र में आएगा। इस परियोजना में 10,000 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक के निवेश को आकर्षित करने का अनुमान है।\
• इंद्रायणी मेडिसिटी में अस्पताल, चिकित्सा अनुसंधान केंद्र, फार्मास्युटिकल निर्माण, वेलनेस और फिजियोथेरेपी के केंद्र होंगे और यह देश का पहला ऐसा शहर होगा जहां सभी उपचार एक ही स्थान पर उपलब्ध होंगे।
• मेडिसिटी में लगभग 24 अलग-अलग अस्पताल भवन होंगे, प्रत्येक में एक विभाग होगा। मेडिसिटी से न सिर्फ पुणे को फायदा होगा, बल्कि पड़ोसी जिलों के लोगों को भी फायदा होगा, जो बेहतर इलाज के लिए शहर में आते हैं।

जर्मनी के लिए पहली बार जीआई-टैग किए गए कश्मीर कार्पेट को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया गया

• जम्मू और कश्मीर सरकार ने हाथ से बुने हुए कालीनों की प्रामाणिकता और वास्तविकता को बनाए रखने के लिए अपने जीआई-टैग वाले कश्मीरी कालीन के लिए त्वरित प्रतिक्रिया (क्यूआर) कोड शुरू किया है। जीआई टैग से जुड़े इस क्यूआर कोड का मुख्य उद्देश्य कश्मीरी कालीन उद्योग की चमक और गौरव को पुनर्जीवित करने में मदद करना है।
• क्यूआर कोड में कारीगरों, निर्माता, बुनकर, जिले, प्रयुक्त कच्चे माल आदि की प्रासंगिक जानकारी होगी।
• चूंकि क्यूआर कोड लेबल की नकल या दुरुपयोग नहीं किया जा सकता है, यह कालीनों के नकली उत्पादन को हतोत्साहित करेगा।
• इस बीच, 11 मार्च, 2022 को नई दिल्ली से जीआई-टैग हाथ से बुने हुए कालीनों की पहली खेप जर्मनी को निर्यात की गई।
• यह ध्यान दिया जाना चाहिए कि कश्मीरी कालीनों को जून 2016 में उद्योग संवर्धन और आंतरिक व्यापार विभाग, वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्रालय की भौगोलिक संकेत रजिस्ट्री द्वारा जीआई-टैग प्रदान किया गया था, लेकिन पंजीकृत कालीनों को 2022 से प्रमाणित किया गया था।

भारतीय रेलवे की आय बढ़ेगी! आसनसोल मंडल में शुरू हुआ पहला गति शक्ति कार्गो टर्मिनल

• गति शक्ति मल्टी-मॉडल कार्गो टर्मिनल' (जिसे जीसीटी के रूप में भी जाना जाता है) के संबंध में प्रधानमंत्री के विजन "गति शक्ति" और रेल मंत्रालय की नीति के अनुरूप भारतीय रेल के आसनसोल मंडल (डिवीजन) ने थापरनगर झारखंड में मैथन पावर लिमिटेड की निजी साइडिंग को सफलतापूर्वक शुरू कर दिया है।
• रेलवे बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष और सीईओ, वी के त्रिपाठी ने जीसीटी की कमीशनिंग में कहा कि मैथन पावर प्रोजेक्ट वर्ष 2009 में शुरू किया गया था, और बिजली उत्पादन वर्ष 2011 में शुरू हुआ था।
• बिजली संयंत्र के लिए आवश्यक कोयले की आपूर्ति सड़क के माध्यम से की जाती थी, जिससे हर महीने 120 इनबाउंड कोयला रेक का उत्पादन होने का अनुमान है।

प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अहमदाबाद में 11वें खेल महाकुंभ का उद्घाटन किया

• खेल महाकुंभ के 11वें संस्करण की शुरुआत शनिवार को अहमदाबाद के सरदार पटेल स्टेडियम में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने की। पीएम मोदी ने दावा किया कि उन्होंने 2010 में खेल महाकुंभ को गुजरात का मुख्यमंत्री नियुक्त किया था। गुजरात में 2010 में 16 खेलों और 13 लाख प्रतिभागियों के साथ शुरू हुए खेल महाकुंभ में अब 36 सामान्य खेल और 26 पैरा-स्पोर्ट्स शामिल हैं। 11वें खेल महाकुंभ को 45 लाख से अधिक पंजीकरण मिले हैं।
• COVID-19 के कारण, हम खेल महाकुंभ का आयोजन नहीं कर पाए। 2010 में 16 खेलों और 13 लाख प्रतिभागियों के साथ शुरू हुआ, खेल महाकुंभ 2019 में 36 सामान्य खेल और 26 पैरा-स्पोर्ट्स तक बढ़ गया।

इसरो ने छात्रों के लिए युवा वैज्ञानिक कार्यक्रम " YUVIKA " लॉन्च किया

• भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) स्कूली बच्चों के लिए "युवा विज्ञानी कार्यक्रम" (युविका) या "यंग साइंटिस्ट कार्यक्रम" नामक एक विशेष कार्यक्रम का आयोजन कर रहा है। विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी में उभरते रुझानों के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करने के उद्देश्य से, इस कार्यक्रम से अधिक छात्रों को अनुसंधान और विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी, इंजीनियरिंग और गणित (एसटीईएम) में करियर बनाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने की उम्मीद है।
• इसरो युवा वैज्ञानिक कार्यक्रम एक आवासीय कार्यक्रम है और 16 मई, 2022 से 28 मई, 2022 तक गर्मी की छुट्टियों के दौरान दो सप्ताह तक चलेगा।
• इस कार्यक्रम में आमंत्रित वार्ता, प्रख्यात वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा अनुभव साझा करना, प्रायोगिक प्रदर्शन, सुविधा और प्रयोगशाला का दौरा, विशेषज्ञों के साथ चर्चा के लिए विशेष सत्र, व्यावहारिक और प्रतिक्रिया सत्र शामिल हैं।

 नियुक्ति एवं इस्‍तीफे

अजय भूषण पांडे को एनएफआरए के अध्यक्ष के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया

• अजय भूषण पांडे को 3 वर्ष की अवधि के लिए राष्ट्रीय वित्तीय रिपोर्टिंग प्राधिकरण (NFRA) के अध्यक्ष के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। 1984 बैच के महाराष्ट्र कैडर के आईएएस अधिकारी पांडेय पिछले वर्ष फरवरी में राजस्व सचिव के पद से सेवानिवृत्त हुए थे।
• कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति (एसीसी) ने पूर्व राजस्व सचिव एबीपी पांडे को एनएफआरए के अध्यक्ष के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण करने की तारीख से तीन वर्ष की अवधि के लिए या 65 वर्ष की आयु प्राप्त करने तक की नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी है।
• एनएफआरए ऑडिटिंग पेशे के लिए एक स्वतंत्र नियामक के रूप में कार्य करता है। निकाय के पास कंपनियों के वित्तीय विवरण की समीक्षा करने, स्पष्टीकरण मांगने और लेखांकन और लेखा परीक्षा मुद्दों के संबंध में अनियमितताओं की जांच करने की शक्तियां हैं। कंपनी अधिनियम, 2013 के तहत परिकल्पित एनएफआरए की स्थापना को कैबिनेट ने मई 2018 में मंजूरी दी थी।

J&K बैंक ने SHG के लिए राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार जीता

• केंद्रीय ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री, गिरिराज सिंह ने स्वयं सहायता समूह बैंक लिंकेज में अपने सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन के लिए जम्मू और कश्मीर बैंक को "वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 के लिए उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन के लिए राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार" से सम्मानित किया। कीर्ति शर्मा, जोनल हेड, दिल्ली, जेएंडके बैंक ने केंद्रीय मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह से बैंक की ओर से पुरस्कार स्वीकार किया।
• यह पुरस्कार विज्ञान भवन, नई दिल्ली, दिल्ली में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस (8 मार्च 2022) के एक भाग के रूप में आयोजित कार्यक्रम के दौरान प्रदान किया गया। जम्मू और कश्मीर के कम बैंकिंग क्षेत्रों में बैंकिंग सुविधाओं और वित्तीय सेवाओं का विस्तार करने की बैंक की प्रतिबद्धता के अनुरूप, जम्मू-कश्मीर बैंक ने इस क्षेत्र में 4 व्यावसायिक इकाइयों (बीयू) को चालू किया है।

डिजिटल खरीदारी में वैश्विक निवेश के मामले में भारत दूसरे स्थान पर

• डीलरूम के सह-निवेश डेटा के लंदन एंड पार्टनर्स विश्लेषण के अनुसार, भारत डिजिटल शॉपिंग कंपनियों के लिए दूसरा सबसे बड़ा वैश्विक उद्यम पूंजी निवेश केंद्र है, जो 2020 में 8 बिलियन डॉलर से बढ़कर 2021 में 22 बिलियन डॉलर हो गया है। वैश्विक स्तर पर, भारत पिछले वर्ष अमेरिका के बाद दूसरे स्थान पर आया, जिसने निवेश में $51 बिलियन को आकर्षित किया, उसके बाद चीन 14 बिलियन डॉलर के साथ तीसरे और यूके 7 बिलियन डॉलर के साथ चौथे स्थान पर रहा।
• भारत के भीतर, बेंगलुरू 2021 में डिजिटल शॉपिंग में 14 अरब डॉलर मूल्य के वेंचर कैपिटल (वीसी) निवेश के साथ विश्व स्तर पर शीर्ष पर है, इसके बाद गुरुग्राम 4 अरब डॉलर के साथ सातवें और मुंबई 3 अरब डॉलर के साथ 10वें स्थान पर है।

गीतांजलि श्री का अनुवाद 'टॉम्ब ऑफ सैंड' अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बुकर पुरस्कार के लिए नामांकित पहला हिंदी उपन्यास बना

• लेखिका गीतांजलि श्री का अनुवादित हिंदी उपन्यास "टॉम्ब ऑफ सैंड" अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बुकर पुरस्कार के लिए लंबे समय से सूचीबद्ध 13 पुस्तकों में से एक है। प्रतिष्ठित साहित्यिक पुरस्कारों की लंबी सूची में जगह बनाने वाला यह पहला हिंदी साहित्य का काम है। पुस्तक को मूल रूप से 'रेट समाधि ' के रूप में प्रकाशित किया गया था और डेज़ी रॉकवेल द्वारा अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद किया गया था। यह GBP 50,000 पुरस्कार के लिए प्रतिस्पर्धा करेगा, जो लेखक और अनुवादक के बीच समान रूप से विभाजित है।

India Water Pitch-Pilot-Scale Challenge’ launched by Union Minister of India

• Under the Ministry’s Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri launched the ‘India WaterPitch-Pilot-Scale Start-up Challenge.’ This comes after the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s ceremonial launch of AMRUT 2.0 on October 1, 2021, stakeholder discussions in Lucknow (during MoHUA’s Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav festivities), and Cabinet approval of the Mission on October 12, 2021.
• Technology Sub-mission to engage startups as ‘Technology Partners’ has been approved by Cabinet under AMRUT 2.0, in keeping with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
• The Mission’s goal is to help startups in the water/used-water sector thrive via innovation and design, resulting in long-term economic growth and job creation.
• The Ministry will select 100 start-ups to get Rs.20 lakhs in cash and mentorship as part of this project.

 India’s first medical city ‘Indrayani Medicity’ to set up in PUNE

• The state government of Maharashtra has announced to set up the country’s first medical city named as ‘Indrayani Medicity’ in Pune, to provide all kinds of specialised treatment under one roof. It will come up in 300-acre of land area in Khed taluka of Pune. The project is estimated to attract investment worth over Rs. 10,000 crore.
• Indrayani Medicity will have hospitals, centres for medical research, pharmaceutical manufacturing, wellness and physiotherapy, and will be the first-of-its-kind city in the country to have all the treatments available at one place.
• The Medicity will have about 24 separate hospital buildings, each housing one department. The Medicity will not only benefit Pune but will also be useful for people from neighbouring districts who come to the city for better treatment.

 First ever GI-tagged Kashmir carpets flagged off to Germany

• The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has launched quick response (QR) code for its GI-tagged Kashmiri carpet, to preserve the authenticity and genuineness of the hand-knotted carpets. The main objective of this QR Code attached to the GI tag is to help in reviving the sheen and glory of the Kashmiri carpet industry.
• The QR code will contain relevant information of the artisans, manufacturer, weaver, district, raw material used etc.
• Since the QR code label cannot be copied or misused, it will discourage the counterfeit production of carpets.
• Meanwhile, the first-ever consignment of GI-tagged hand-knotted carpets were exported to Germany from New Delhi on March 11, 2022.
• It must be noted that the Kashmiri carpets were granted GI-tag in June 2016 by the Geographical Indication Registry of the Department of Industry Promotion and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, but the registered carpets were certified from 2022.

Indian Railways’ earnings to enhance! First Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal commissioned in Asansol Division

• The Asansol Division of Indian Railways has successfully commissioned private siding of Maithan Power Limited at Thaparnagar, Jharkhand, in accordance with the Prime Minister’s vision Gati Shakti and the Ministry of Railways’ policy regarding the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal or also known as GCT, informed the Ministry of Railways.
• Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, V K Tripathi, said at the GCT’s commissioning that the Maithan Power Project was commenced in the year 2009, and power generation began in the year 2011.
• The coal needed for the power plant was delivered via road, which is estimated to yield 120 inbound coal rakes every month.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates 11th Khel Mahakumbh in Ahmedabad

• The 11th edition of the Khel Mahakumbh was started on Saturday at Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi claimed that he appointed Khel Mahakumbh as Gujarat’s Chief Minister in 2010. Khel Mahakumbh, which began in Gujarat in 2010 with 16 sports and 13 lakh participants, now includes 36 general sports and 26 para-sports. The 11th Khel Mahakumbh has received over 45 lakh registrations.
• Due to COVID-19, we were not able to organize Khel Mahakumbh. Started in 2010 with 16 sports & 13 lakh participants, Khel Mahakumbh increased to 36 general sports & 26 para-sports in 2019.”

ISRO launches Young Scientist Programme “YUVIKA” for students

• The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is organizing a special programme for school children called “YUva VIgyani KAryakram” (YUVIKA) or “Young Scientist Programme”. Aimed at creating awareness about emerging trends in science and technology, this programme is expected to encourage more students to pursue research and a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
• The ISRO Young Scientist Programme is a residential programme and will span over two weeks during the summer vacations from May 16, 2022, to May 28, 2022.
• This program includes invited talks, experience sharing by eminent scientists, experimental demonstrations, facility and lab visits, exclusive sessions for discussions with experts, practical and feedback sessions. 

APPOINTMENTS & RESIGNATIONS

Ajay Bhushan Pandey appointed as NFRA Chairman

• Ajay Bhushan Pandey has been appointed as the chairman of the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) for a period of 3 years. Pandey, a 1984-batch Maharashtra cadre IAS officer, retired as revenue secretary in February last year.
• The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of former revenue secretary ABP Pandey as the chairperson of NFRA for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge or till the incumbent attains the age of 65 years.
• The NFRA acts as an independent regulator for the auditing profession. The body has powers to review the financial statement of companies, can seek explanations and probe irregularities with respect to accounting and auditing issues. The setting up of the NFRA, envisaged under the Companies Act, 2013, was approved by the Cabinet in May 2018.

J&K Bank wins National Award for SHG

• Union Minister of Rural Development, Giriraj Singh honoured the Jammu and Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank) with the “National Award for Outstanding Performance for FY 2020-21” in recognition of its best performance in Self-Help Group Bank Linkage. Kirti Sharma, Zonal Head, Delhi, J & K Bank, accepted the award on the bank’s behalf from Union Minister Giriraj Singh.
• The award was presented during the event organized as a part of International Women’s Day (8th March 2022) at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, Delhi. In line with the Bank’s commitment to extend banking facilities and financial services into the under-banked areas of Jammu and Kashmir, J&K Bank has commissioned 4 Business Units (BUs) in the region.

India ranks 2nd for global investment in digital shopping

• According to the London & Partners analysis of Dealroom. co-investment data, India is the second-largest global venture capital investment hub for digital shopping companies, growing by a whopping 175% from $8 billion in 2020 to $22 billion in 2021. On a global scale, India came in second to the US last year, which attracted $51 billion in investment, followed by China at third with $14 billion and the UK at fourth with $7 billion.
• Within India, Bengaluru comes out on top globally with $14 billion worth of Venture Capital (VC) investments in digital shopping in 2021, followed by Gurugram at No. 7 with $4 billion and Mumbai at No. 10 with $3 billion.

Geetanjali Shree’s Tomb of Sand becomes first Hindi novel nominated for International Booker Prize

• Author Geetanjali Shree’s translated Hindi novel “Tomb of Sand” is among 13 books long-listed for the International Booker Prize. It is the first Hindi language work of fiction to make it to the long list of the prestigious literary prize. The book was originally published as ‘Ret Samadhi’ and translated into English by Daisy Rockwell. It will compete for the GBP 50,000 prize, which is split evenly between the author and translator.
