Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) to recruit for Primary and Upper Primary teaching posts is about to commence. This test is conducted to hire teachers for government schools in Uttar Pradesh.   • UPTET Online Form is expected to be released by the second week of September 2019 on the official uptet website. 
  • The UPTET Eligibility Criteria differs for all posts: Primary & Upper Primary Teacher, Sanskirt & English Teacher, Urdu Teacher.
  • The exam will be conducted on the basis of 2 Papers and candidates will have to attain 60% marks to qualify in the exam.
  • Candidates who clear the UPTET will be awarded a certificate that will assist in getting the post of a teacher in state government schools. 

UPTET Eligibility Criteria 2019

  • UPTET Eligibility Criteria has been set by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) to set a benchmark for government teacher aspirants.
  • Candidates appearing for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test need to attain 60% marks to qualify.
  • The Age Limit to Apply for the UPTET is 18 to 35 Years for General candidates. The age relaxation is mentioned below in detail. 

UPTET Eligibility Criteria

UPTET Eligibility for Primary Teacher (Classes 1st to 5th)

Candidates interested in applying for the position of Primary Teacher should have the following educational qualification:

  • Aspirants must have cleared Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year diploma course in Special Education OR
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma program in Elementary Education. OR
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Passed or appearing. 

UPTET Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary Teacher (Classes 6th to 8th)

Interested candidates should go through the following educational eligibility set for the position of Upper Primary Teacher:

  • Applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree & B.T.C from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) approved institute OR
  • A bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks & B.Ed/ B.Ed Special Education from Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) OR
  • Intermediate (10+2) with a minimum of 50% of marks & a 4-year B.A/ B.S.C.Ed/ B.A.Ed from N.C.T.E./ U.G.C recognized institute OR
  • Intermediate (10+2) with a minimum 50% of marks & a 4 year Degree (B.El.Ed) in Primary Education OR
  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 45% & B.Ed degree.

Primary Sanskrit & English Teacher Eligibility ( 1st to 5th Class)

Applicants interested in the position of Primary English & Sanskrit Teacher for classes 1 to 5 should have a Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject. In addition to this, candidates should have 1 of the following course certificates

  • B.C.T from NCTE (National Council for Teacher Educational) approved institute
  • A diploma from an NCTE or Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) approved institute. 
  • A 2-year C.T (Nursery)/ Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) from any NCTE approved institute.

UPTET Eligibility for Upper-Primary English & Sanskrit Teacher (5th to 8th Class)

The Eligibility criteria for UPTET Upper Primary Teacher (English & Sanskrit) has been mentioned below-

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject and B.T.C./ C.T. (Nursery) from an NCTE approved institute OR
  • A bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject and minimum 50% marks along with B.Ed / B.Ed special degree from NCTE/RCI approved institution OR
  • A bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject and minimum 45% marks and B.Ed Degree.

UPTET Eligibility Criteria for Primary Urdu Teacher for Class 1 to 5

Applicants interested in the position of Primary Urdu Teacher for classes 1 to 5 should have a Bachelor’s degree with Urdu as the main subject. In addition to this, candidates should have 1 of the following course certificates

  • B.T.C from NCTE approved institute in Uttar Pradesh 
  • BCT (2 years) in Urdu training in Uttar Pradesh 
  • Moallim-E-Urdu Degree holder before 11-08-1997

Eligibility Criteria for Upper-Primary Urdu Teacher

Applicants interested in the position of Upper-Primary Urdu Teacher for classes 6 to 8 should fit in the below mentioned UPTET Eligibility Criteria. 

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree from a government recognized university with Urdu as the main subject. In addition to this, candidates should have 1 of the following course certificates

  • A B.T.C from an NCTE approved institute in Uttar Pradesh.
  • B.Ed Special Degree from any NCTE/RCI approved institute.
  • A BCT (2 years) in Urdu training in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Moallim-E-Urdu Degree holder before 11-08-1997.
  • A Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University.

UPTET Age Limit 2019

  • The Minimum Age Limit to apply for the exam is 18 Years. 
  • Maximum age limit to apply is 35 Years for General Candidate.

UPTET Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Candidates hoping to apply for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test should meet the following Nationality Criteria - 

  • Candidates interested in the UPTET should be a citizen of India. 
  • Candidates who belong to Nepal/Bhutan or Tibet area can also apply for the exam. 

UPTET Qualifying Marks 2019

Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted to authenticate people who are interested in becoming a government teacher in Uttar Pradesh. Some Important points to note for UPTET Qualifying Marks 

  1. UPTET Qualifying Marks for General Candidates is 60%. General Candidates who score 60% of marks in the exam are given the eligibility certificate. 
  2. UPTET Qualifying marks for Reserved category candidates is 55%. 
  3. Candidates who possess a Diploma from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) or Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) are given preference in the test.

UPTET Eligibility Certificate 2019

Once the Teacher Eligibility Test for Uttar Pradesh is over, selected candidates will receive the UPTET Eligibility Certificate by providing a copy of the Admit Card to the District Education Board. 

  • This Certificate is given to candidates who clear the UPTET.
  • The UPTET Eligibility Certificate is valid for 5 Years.
  • UPTET Certificate will be available for selected candidates at the District Education Board.
  • Candidates should make sure they carry a photo id proof along with the admit card while collecting the Certificate from the District Education Board.

How to get a second copy of the UPTET Certificate?

Candidates can get a second copy of the certificate by paying a small fee and submitting the below-mentioned documents. 

1) Candidates who require a second copy of the certificate will need to pay a fee of Rs 300/- in the form of Demand Draft payable at Secretary, Examination Controller Officer, Uttar Pradesh, 23 Allenganj, Allahabad. 

2) A list of following documents need to be submitted to collect the UPTET Certificate 

  • Marksheet of Class 10th. 
  • UPTET Admit Card
  • Caste/Physically Handicapped Certificate
  • An advertisement of lost Eligibility Certificate in Newspaper
  • FIR copy of the lost Certificate.
