• In a collaborative project involving researchers from Kerala University and various other institutions, a significant archaeological excavation has revealed a 5,200-year-old Harappan settlement at Padta Bet, near Khatiya village in Kachchh district, Gujarat. 

Manohar International Airport in Goa Launches Digi Yatra System

• The Manohar International Airport in Mopa, Goa, has become the 14th airport in India to launch the Digi Yatra system.
• The Manohar International Airport is the second international airport in Goa, after the Dabolim airport, which is a civil enclave in a military airbase.

• The IWF World Cup 2024 was held in Phuket, Thailand from March 31 to April 11, 2024.
• The event was organized by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).
• The IWF is the world governing body for men’s and women’s weightlifting, with 193 member countries.
• It is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, and its current president is Mohamad Hassan Jaloud.

• Masdar aims to achieve a renewable energy portfolio capacity of 100GW by 2030.

RBI Imposes Penalties on IDFC First Bank and LIC Housing Finance

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed monetary penalties on two financial institutions – IDFC First Bank and LIC Housing Finance – for non-compliance with various regulations.
• The RBI has imposed a penalty of ₹1 crore on IDFC First Bank for non-compliance with certain directions on ‘Loans and Advances – Statutory and Other Restrictions’. 

RBI Postpones Implementation of New Rules for Exchange-Traded Forex Derivatives

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has deferred the implementation of new regulations governing exchange-traded forex derivatives to May 3.
• The RBI rules by closing positions before April 5.
• India’s bond markets in global indexes from June onwards.
