- French President Emmanuel Macron concluded his two-day visit to India, participating as the chief guest in the 75th Republic Day celebrations.

- Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 19,100 crores in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. The diverse projects spanned crucial sectors such as rail, road, oil and gas, and urban development.
Nitish Kumar takes oath as Bihar CM for a record 9th time with BJP's backing
- Amidst anticipation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Nitish Kumar, the leader of Janata Dal-United (JDU), assumed office as Bihar's Chief Minister for an unprecedented ninth term. This move marked a departure from the 'Mahagathbandhan' alliance, as Kumar garnered backing from the BJP.

Zomato Payments approved as online payment aggregator by RBI
- Zomato Payments, a wholly owned subsidiary of Zomato Limited, has received the certificate of authorisation from the Reserve Bank of India to operate as an online payment aggregator.
- In an exchange filing, the food delivery platform stated the central bank has allowed it to carry out the business as payment aggregator and issuer of pre-paid payment instruments with effect from January 24, 2024.
