Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu takes oath as new Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh , Mukesh Agnihotri his deputy
- Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Bhagel made the announcement. He said the new Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister will be Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Mukesh Agnihotri will be Deputy Chief Minister.
- He will be the second chief minister from Hamirpur district, after Prem Kumar Dhumal.
- Governor of Himachal Pradesh: Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.
- Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will be the 15th chief minister of HP.
Bhupendra Patel to continue as Gujarat CM for second term
- Bhupendra Patel took oath as chief minister of Gujarat for the second time.
- BJP swept the Gujarat Assembly election with a whopping 156 out of the 182 Assembly seats, which is the highest number of seats any party has won after the formation of the state in 1960.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates Goa's second international airport
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Goa's second airport, MOPA International Airport. The airport is named after former Chief Minister Manohar Parikar. The operations will begin from January 5, 2023. GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL) will manage the airport.
- Manohar International Airport is built on 2,132 acres and is located at Pernem Taluka in North Goa.

Senior nuclear scientist K V Suresh Kumar is new BHAVINI CMD
- Senior nuclear scientist K V Suresh Kumar assumed charge as the chairman and managing director of the Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited (BHAVINI).
- BHAVINI is tasked with operationalizing the Stage-II of India's three-stage nuclear programme with a focus on fast breeder reactor technology.
- BHAVINI is under the Government's Department of Atomic Energy.
