IPMAT Indore Entrance Test is conducted to fill seats in IIM Indore, Rohtak and Ranchi for management programs, whereas NTA conducts JIPMAT for admissions into IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya’s IPM courses.

The number of students who appear for the exam is increasing every year, yet officials do not proportionally increase the no. of seats in IPMAT each year.

Total Number of Seats in IPMAT 2026

The candidates who pass the exam are selected based on the number of IPMAT seats available for the course. 

Every year, IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak conduct separate IPMAT exams, along with IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya conducting JIPMAT. 

IIMs accepting IPMAT scores are responsible for announcing the number of seats prior to the admission process.

The number of seats for IPMAT does not change every year at IIM Indore, but for IIM Rohtak, the number of seats has increased from 165 to 198.

The seats in IPMAT are filled based on merit scores obtained in the entrance exam and the interview process and for some IIMs class 12th scores are also taken into account.

Note: The 12th-grade score is not accepted as a valid qualification for IPMAT Indore.

The IPMAT Cut-off list is released along with the exam results on the official website. 

The category-wise IPMAT Cut-offs are released for the General, OBC, SC, ST, PWD, and EWS categories, depending on the available IPMAT seats. 

Apart from the Cut-off list, the institute also announces the number of seats for IPMAT available in advance each year. Candidates can find the number of seats available for IPMAT on the institute’s official website.
