These questions continued to evaluate students' ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, ensuring a balanced assessment of their analytical skills.
  • The Manufacturing Industries and Geographical Perspective on Selected Issues and Problems chapter received the highest weightage this year.

  • The exam was easy to moderate to attempt per student reactions.
  • The paper this time was quite different in nature compared to the previous CUET exam. The pattern has been changed in the 2024 Economics CUET paper, and as a result, questions were confusing for students to interpret and resolve.
  • Some questions on economics-related terms were asked, which many reported as out-of-syllabus. As a matter of fact, although these were not technically in the NCERTs, this is a valid concern raised after CUET's Shift 1A expected answer key was listed.. This is important for students of CUET 2025 to note.
  • There were almost no numericals in the CUET 2024 Economics exam, which was highly unexpected since 2023 and 2022 contained many quantitative questions.
  • The positive thing about CUET is that you can leave up to 10 questions. With the right question selection and close to 100% accuracy in each question attempt, solving 38-40 questions in the CUET exam for Economics would be enough for a good score.
  • The new typology and format of questions per the CUET UG Exam Analysis 2024 are likely to lead to a higher cutoff than in previous years.

Learning for Next Year's Exam

  • ThYear'sonal Testing Agency impressively incorporated around 25 questions from GK & Current Affairs in Shift 2B's CUET exam,  B'sing up approximately half of the paper. This has happened for the first time in the General Test. Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude shared the remaining portion of the CUET 2024 General Test paper.
  • The Current Affairs section of the exam contained 12 questions, which translates to a substantial 60 marks, a significant increase compared to the previous year.
  • Additionally, one or two questions in the reasoning and quantitative ability sections of the offline General Test exam for CUET were quite intricate and tricky. The examiner seems to have intended for students to spend some time solving these questions.
  • Learning from CUET 2025 students: Since NTA does not provide detailed syllabi for the general test, all candidates preparing for upcoming exams should give equal weight to all three sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and GK & Current Affairs during their preparation.

Learning for Next Year's Exam

  • In this year's English exam, 75-80% of the questions were easy, and 5-10% were time-consuming. The level of Reading comprehension was on the higher side this time.
  • The 24 questions asked only in one section, Reading Comprehension, surprised many students and took most of the exam's time. This time, 4 passages with 6 questions each were asked.
  • 5 questions were from the topic 'Sentence Rearr'ngement'. This weightage was higher than that of previous years' CUET Engyears'uestion papers.
  • The number of questions from Match in the columns in filler type was 6. These (Matching-type questions) seem to have become a favourite for the NTA.
  • No questions were asked from Question Tag. Surprisingly, there were no questions about Spelling Errors or Spotting Errors in the CUET 2024 exam for English.
  • As a whole, the vocabulary portion of questions was higher than that of grammar.
  • No questions were asked about topics like voices and direct-indirect speech this time.
  • Some of the vocabulary questions were higher in level.
  • Learnings for CUET 2025 Students from CUET exam analysis for English: The grammar portion decreased this time, whereas it was higher last year. NTA appears to be experimenting with the English language exam. Therefore, students must prepare for RCs, vocabulary, and grammar in all three sections.

Learnings for Next Year’s Exam

  • This year CUET exam analysis of Biology was on the moderate side.
  • 40-45% of questions were easy, and 15% were a bit difficult, with tricky options, and students took time to analyse these questions.
  • The weightage of concept-based and application-based was high compared to the previous year.
  • Statements based questions were on the higher side this time with applications concept.
  • Reproductive Health had high weightage this time. It is advisable that candidates who are going to appear in the coming exam ensure a good command of the First Unit, which is Reproduction, which covers 10-13 questions now.
  • The weightage of Evolution this time was highly decreased.
  • Like the Chemistry paper, Biology had fewer questions, this time from Deleted Chapters.
  • The Unit Biotechnology had less weight this year.
  • There was a sudden hike in no. of questions from Ecology and Environment.
  • NCERT was completely focused on the CUET exam analysis of Biology.
  • Reproduction, Inheritance, Human Health, and Diseases are some units where we saw slightly more difficult-level questions than in previous years.
  •  Important for CUET 2025 Students: Follow the NCERT Strictly, and Don't Skip Any Don'tles/Questions from NCERT.

Attempt Mock Tests to boost your score in each subject. As the normalisation process is not there this year, it becomes extremely important for you to score high marks.

Only the raw scores will be calculated to prepare the merit list for CUET universities

Learnings for Next Year’s Exam

  • The questions asked from the Physical Chemistry section were easy to attempt in this session of the CUET Chemistry exam.
  • Many students who appeared in Shift 1A of CUET exam today will also be taking the Shift 1B exam, i.e. Biology, scheduled to begin by 12:15 PM.
  • This time, there were 31 questions from Solutions, Chemical Kinetics, Electrochemistry, d—and f-block Elements, Aldehydes, Ketones, carboxylic Acids, and Amines. This is the big change we saw this year.
  • Although NCERT as a keyword was not mentioned in the Official Notification but even this time, NTA made base NCERT to set the question paper.
  • Questions from Deleted Chapters were fewer this time compared to previous Years' CUET exams. Most of the questions were concept—and application-based this time.
  • ALDEHYDES, KETONES AND CARBOXYLIC ACIDS chapter had the highest weightage this time. Around 40 Marks weightage we saw in the exam.
  • For next year's exam, it is advisable for the candidates to ensure that the syllabus is covered in CBSE (OR NCERT Books); hence, NCERT is the only key.

Is CUET more difficult than Boards?

The difficulty level of the CUET exam cannot be compared to the board exams since both test students on different parameters. However, if you have prepared for the CBSE boards, CUET will be easier for you to attempt since there is a significant overlap in their exam syllabus. Review the CUET exam pattern to understand how much it differs from the boards and in what ways.

Though the overall registrations are less than the previous year, the number of subject-wise applicants has increased this year due to more choices and subject selection, which is only up to 6.

The CUET difficulty level for domain-specific subject papers can vary from easy to moderate for general subjects but moderate to difficult for highly popular ones like:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Mathematics

The CUET exam analysis offers valuable information on subject-wise difficulty levels, question types, and question paper reviews.

As per the previous year's analysisyear'scut-off for top-ranked colleges has been over 750. You must aim to score 750+ out of 800 to be eligible for most universities.

As the latest changes in exam pattern and score calculation are expected to increase the CUET difficulty level, attempt CUET mock tests and previous year question papers regularly until the last day. Go through your notes and revise the concepts carefully to keep them fresh.

Detailed Review of CUET Geography Question Paper

  • The CUET Geography Exam for 2024 introduced a noticeable shift towards facts and figures-based questions, akin to the trend observed in the Economics domain of the Humanities stream. This change rendered the 2024 Geography exam moderately challenging, requiring students to recall a substantial amount of detailed information.
  • Approximately 23 questions were centred on factual content, a significant increase that tested students' memory and quick recall abilities.
  • As in previous years, the NTA included 10 case study-based questions, maintaining consistency in this aspect of the Geography CUET exam. These questions continued to evaluate students' ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, ensuring a balanced assessment of their analytical skills.
  • The Manufacturing Industries and Geographical Perspective on Selected Issues and Problems chapter received the highest weightage this year.
  • In summary, the CUET Geography Exam 2024 balanced factual recall with practical application, challenging students with more facts and figures-based questions while maintaining a steady emphasis on case studies and critical topics.

Detailed Review of CUET Economics Paper and Expected Cut-Off 2024

  • Only a few questions were based on National Income this time, despite being an important topic from a CUET point of view.
  • No questions on assertion-reason were present in 2024's CUET Economics exam, while they were present last year. However, the exam included statement-based questions.
  • The highlight of the CUET 2024 exam's Economic Exam was the maximum number of questions based on facts and figures.
  • Paragraph-based questions were relatively easy this time.
  • Overall, there was more emphasis on Indian Economics compared to Macro Economics.
  • From the CUET exam 2024 analysis, it is clear that only 7-8 questions were seen from the deleted chapters out of the 4/5 chapters, so the weightage of deleted topics was also less here.
  • More questions were asked from Microeconomics in CUET 2024 Economics question paper.
  • There were more theory-based questions.
  • The exam's difficulty level was hard compared to the board exam.

DAY 1: CUET UG Exam Analysis 2024 for General Test [Shift 2B]

The General Test pattern consisted of 60 questions, out of which 50 were required to be attempted. Here is what students have reported about the CUET exam:
