To be eligible for the UGC NET 2023 Law exam, candidates must meet the following criteria:

General, Unreserved, and General-EWS Candidates

• You need at least 55% in your Master's Degree to apply.
• Your degree must be from an institution recognized by UGC.
• Your Master's can be in areas like Humanities, Social Science, Computer Science, and more.

OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender Candidates

• If you belong to any of these categories, you need a minimum of 50% in your Master's Degree.
• Again, the university or institution where you got your degree must be UGC-recognized.

Ongoing Master's Degree or Awaiting Results

• You can still apply for the UGC NET LAW 2023 Exam even if you're in the final year of your Master's or waiting for your results.
• But remember, you'll need to finish your degree with the required marks within two years after your NET result comes out.

Third Gender Category

• If you belong to the third gender, you'll get the same benefits in terms of fees, age, and other eligibility criteria as candidates from the SC, ST, and PwD categories.

Ph.D. Degree Holders

• If you completed your Master's degree by September 19, 1991, you can still apply for NET, and you'll only need 50% instead of 55%.
