Steps to apply UCEED B.Des Application Form 2024

Make sure you check the eligibility criteria and read through the admission brochure after filling out the application form. Follow the steps below if you have to register. 

Step 1: Visit the official website (http://www.uceed.iitb.ac.in/2024/bdes-application.html) to locate the BDes application button and click on it.

Step 2: Choose B.Des (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad & IIITDM Jabalpur)

Step 3: Click on Login if you have to newly register. Enter Email ID.

Step 4: An Email will be sent to you with an activation link. Open the URL and fill in the requested information.

Step 5: If you are waiting for seat allotment rounds, then enter the UCEED roll number, Total marks scored, DOB, DIN, and Email address to verify.

Step 5: Enter the details once verified, upload the required documents, and submit the form by paying the applicable fees.

Know the UCEED B.Des Eligibility Criteria 2024

You must have satisfied the following criteria to apply for the UCEED exam 2024. 

1. Age limit: The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1997, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and, on or after October 1, 1992, if belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD category.
2. UCEED qualification: The candidate should have qualified, i.e., obtained a rank, in UCEED 2024. 
3. Qualifying examination: The candidate should have passed all five subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2022 or 2024. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2021 or earlier are NOT eligible.

Candidates from the Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply to all the five participating institutes. Candidates from any other stream (Science without Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts and humanities) are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad.

For admission to BDes at IIITDM Jabalpur, only students with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology at 10+2 can apply. 

Students from Arts or Humanities at 10+2 are not eligible to apply for BDes admissions at IIITDM Jabalpur. 

The candidates appearing for their qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2024 must ensure that (a) all parts of their final examination are completed by the date of application for admission and (b) proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the required eligibility is submitted by the last date.

UCEED B.Des Application Fees 2024

The seat acceptance fee is INR 60,000 (Rupees Sixty Thousand only) for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL and INR 15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only) for SC/ST/PWD.

The B.Des application counselling fee for BDes application Process 2024 is INR 2000, and this fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. 

This amount must be paid online mode as instructed on the registration portal.

UCEED B.Des Seat Matrix and Reservation

Seat allocation will be based on the All India Rank (merit order), reservation category, and seat availability in each institute at the time of seat allocation. 

The table represents category-wise available seats in Bachelor of Design (BDes) programs at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur for the academic year 2022:

We can expect a somewhat similar seat and reservation matrix this year. 

• Applicants will be able to edit their application form, including the order of preference of institutes, and resubmit it, 
• This can be done till the closing date of the application period. 
• However, after the closing date, all institute choices and information filled in the applications are treated as Final. 
• Requests for any changes in the application (after the closing date) will strictly not be entertained.
• Seats are reserved for foreign nationals as well. Seats allotted to foreign students are supernumerary, with a cap of 10% of the total available seats in the course, in order of merit.
• The fee structure for the academic year 2024-2024 will be made available on respective institute websites closer to the date of admission.

Reservation for UCEED B.Des

• Candidates belonging to the EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories will be declared as qualified on the basis of a relaxed criterion.
• Candidates must note that the benefit of reservation will be given to them subject to verification of documents at the appropriate stage. If it is discovered at any stage that a candidate has used a false/fake/invalid/incorrect document or has furnished false, incorrect, or incomplete information in order to avail the benefit of reservation, then such a candidate shall be excluded from all admission processes. In case such a candidate has already been given admission, then the admission shall stand cancelled.
• If the PwD certificate is not valid, the candidate will be rolled back to GEN
• The candidate must submit a valid and updated certificate while submitting his/her application for BDes admission to avail of reservation.
• Seat allocation will be based on the All India Rank (merit order), reservation category, and seat availability in each institute at the time of seat allocation. 
• Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) 10% of seats. EWS certificates issued only from April 1, 2021, onwards are accepted.
• Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) have 27% of seats in the course.
• Scheduled Caste (SC) - 15% of seats in the course.
• Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 7.5% of seats in the course.
• Unfilled seats in the OBC-NCL category can be allotted to OPEN category candidates during the counselling if there are no more qualified OBC-NCL candidates in the applicant list, subject to the availability of rounds of seat allocation.
• Seats remaining vacant under the SC and ST categories shall NOT be allotted to candidates belonging to other categories. 
• There are no spot rounds of admissions in IITs after completing the counselling except IIITDM Jabalpur if there are any vacant seats after completion of the counselling.
