Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was established in the year 1975. Every year a number of aspirants appear for SSC CHSL exam. It is a secondary (10+2) level examination which is conducted in 2 phases. We are providing all the details of SSC CHSL recruitment 2018 that will help you to prepare for the upcoming CHSL exam.
SSC CHSL Notification
Last year, the official notification was released in November 2017. The online application process started on 18th November and ended on 27th December 2017. The Tier II exam will be held on 8th July 2018, for last year’s notification. Similar to previous year, the official notification is expected in the month of November 2018. Please keep visiting this page on a regular basis to stay updated regarding any latest news.
The SSC CHSL vacancy for 2018 is not yet released. The details will be updated once the the official notification is released. However, in the 2017 a total of 3271 vacancies were announced. Earlier, it was 3259 but later on the CHSL 2017 vacancies were revised and increased to 3271. The post wise breakup of SSC CHSL 2017 vacancies is as mentioned below:

The SSC CHSL 2018 exam dates are not announced yet. We will update the details as soon as it is officially notified. However, you can have a look at previous years SSC CHSL exam date whose notification was released on 18th Nov 2017.

SSC CHSL Application Form
The application link is not active now. We have given the steps to apply below according to the method followed the previous time.
Click on apply section shown at the top bar of the page.
Under CHSL click on apply online link (at present the link is not available).
The registration link will open up in the new window.
Click on new registration tab and then click on the register button.
To begin with the registration, you needs to provide basic details like name, parents’ name, date of birth, email id, mobile number etc.
Click on the submit button. Do verify your details before submitting the online CHSL application form.
After submission, you will be issued a registration ID for SSC CHSL 2018 exam.
In the next step, you have to upload photograph and a signature.
The photograph needs to be clicked in front of a white colour or light coloured background and must be more than 4 kb in size and less than 12 kb. The photograph resolution must be 100*120 pixels in width and height.
The signature must be in black or blue ink on a white sheet. The properly scanned copy of the candidate’s signature must be in jpg format and it should be more than 1 kb in size and less than 12 kb. The resolution should be 40*60 pixels in width and height.
Login with registered ID and a password to complete the Part-II of the SSC CHSL 2018 application form.
After filling the application form, you must preview the entire application form.

SSC CHSL Selection Process
SSC will conduct CHSL 2018 recruitment in three phase:
Phase I : SSC CHSL Tier I Exam (Objective Paper)
Phase II: SSC CHSL Tier II Exam (Descriptive Paper)
Phase III : Skill Test/Typing Test
The final selection will depend on the merit list based on the performance of the candidates in Phase I and II i.e Objective + Descriptive paper. Also, there is no sectional cut off in SSC CHSL Tier I exam.
SSC CHSL Exam Pattern
Tier 1 Exam Pattern
In 2017, SSC CHSL Tier I timing was reduced from 75 minutes to 60 minutes which has increased the difficulty level of examination. However, this year it is expected that SSC will follow the same pattern as of 2017. There is no sectional cut off in CHSL Tier I exam but there will be an overall cut off marks. There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer.

The tier 2 paper is offline i.e in pen and paper mode. The SSC CHSL descriptive paper can be written either in Hindi or in English. One has to secure a minimum of 33% marks to qualify the exam. Marks from the test will be added for in preparing the final merit list.

Tier 3 Exam Pattern
The SSC CHSL Tier III will be a skill test/typing test which is of qualifying nature.
For SSC CHSL Skill Test, you should have a typing speed of 8000 key depressions per hour. You will be provided with a printed sheet and will be given 15 minutes. The total number of words in the sheet will be 2000 – 2200 approximately.
For SSC CHSL typing test, if you choose English, your typing speed should be 35 words per minute. If you choose Hindi, typing speed should be 30 words per minute. Total time is 10 minutes. You will be judge on the basis of accuracy as well as speed.
