SSC (Staff Selection Commission) was established in the year 1975. SSC is responsible for recruiting new candidates with the help of the SSC CHSL exam conducted all over the country. The SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level paper is for all students who have cleared their 12th standard. 

This exam hires people for Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants (PA/SA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC) and Court Clerk for different departments & organizations in the Government of India.


Staff Selection Commission has announced the Exam Schedule for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2020. 

SSC CHSL 2020 Tier 1 Exam will be conducted from 16th to 27th March 2020. 

Candidates will be able to apply for 2020 Recruitment from 3rd December 2019 to 10th January 2020.

  • The Tier 2 SSC CHSL 2019 paper has been conducted on 29th September 2019.

SSC CHSL Admit Card 2019 

Staff Selection Commission has released the Tier 2 Admit Card for all 9 regions on the official regional SSC websites. 

  • It is essential for all appearing candidates to bring a printout of their Admit Card to the exam center.
  • The Hall Ticket has all the information regarding the candidate's Exam Center, applied post, date and shift timings. 

How to download your Tier 2 admit card?

  1. Directly download the SSC CHSL Admit Card for your region.
  2. The Admit Card can also be downloaded through the official site
  3. Find and click on the Admit Card Button.
  4. A new page will open.
  5. Log in with your Registration number, password and press submit.
  6. A new page will open displaying the candidate’s Admit Card
  7. Download the admit card and save it for future use. 
  8. We suggest that candidates take 3-4 print outs of their Tier 2 CHSL Admit card just to be safe.

SSC CHSL Exam Analysis 

  • SSC Tier 2 exam to be conducted on 29th September 2019. A total of 47,606 candidates will be appearing for the Descriptive Test.
  • We will provide a detailed report of the Tier 2 Exam with SSC CHSL Exam Analysis

  • A total of 47,606 candidates cleared the Tier 1 CHSL Cut Off 2019 out of which 45,101 candidates cleared obtained the Stage 1 Cut Off marks for the post of LDC/JSA, PA/SA.

SSC CHSL Syllabus 2019

Tier 2 Syllabus

The Second Tier is conducted Offline and candidates will be tested on their writing skills. This is the exam pattern followed for the Tier 2 Descriptive test-

Tier 3 Tests are on the basis of the post that the candidate has applied for- 

  • This test mainly tests the candidates typing speed.
  • Accuracy with which the candidates can type. 

SSC CHSL Vacancy 2019

 SSC has announced a total of 5789 vacancies for SSC CHSL 2019. The vacancies announced this time around is a lot more than the previous year, when SSC announced 3271 vacancies for 2017.

Tier 1 Result was declared on 12th September 2019. 3 Result PDF's were released by the Staff Selection Commission: 1) LDC/JSA 2) PA/SA 3) DEO. The Result for Tier 2 Test is expected to be released in October 2019.

Tier 1 Exam Pattern

SSC CHSL Selection Process 

Candidates who clear all 3 Tiers of the examination are selected on the basis of their merit. The candidates personal preference is also taken into account with merit while allocating positions in departments. 

  1. CHSL Recruitment 2019 will be selecting candidates for the post of Lower Divisional Clerks & Court Clerks, Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistants and Data Entry Operators.
  2. In order to be selected, the candidates have to clear all 3 Tiers ( Tier 1, Tier 2 & Tier 3)
  3. Final documentation is done after all 3 tiers are cleared.
  4. Anybody who doesn't clear the documentation process is dropped from the selection process. 

How are Ties Resolved in SSC CHSL? 

  1. Tier 1 + Tier 2 marks are calculated. 
  2. The candidate score in Tier 2 is calculated.
  3. The candidate's score in Stage 3 is calculated. If both candidates have the same score then the Date of birth of both students will be observed and the older candidate will be given preference. 
  4. If the date of birth of both candidates is also similar then the alphabetical order of the candidate's name will be considered.

Preparation Tips for SSC CHSL 

The Tier 1 Exam is just about to commence. The preparation tips will help in guiding you and will get you ready for any hurdle that you might face. Keep these important tips in mind-

  • Solve Mock Tests and previous year question papers every day.
  • The high scoring topics in Reasoning section are- puzzles, figure-based questions, analogy, coding-decoding, series. Make sure to get a good understanding of these topics so you can attempt most questions asked from them. 
  • Go through the SSC CHSL Previous Year question papers to know frequently asked questions in the exam. 
  • While preparing for the GK section, make sure you give time to both Static G.K and current affairs.
