SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2019

It is essential for you to understand the pattern in which this paper is conducted so you can prepare for your exam accordingly.-

  • The exam is conducted in 3 stages ( Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3)
  • Tier 1 is an Objective/MCQ type paper and is conducted Online ( Computer Based)
  • Tier 2:- Descriptive Subjective type paper. Conducted Offline.
  • Tier 3 is a Computer Proficiency/Skill Test.

Tier 2 Syllabus

The Second Tier is conducted Offline and you would be tested on your writing skills. This is the exam pattern followed in Tier 2-

  • The SSC Tier 1 exam was conducted from 1st July to 11th July 2019.

The CHSL Tier 1 Admit card was released for all 9 regions from 18th June 2019 to 24th June 2019. 

  • It is essential for all appearing candidates to bring a printout of their Admit Card to the exam center.
  • The Hall Ticket has all the information regarding the candidate's Exam Center and the applied post. 

How to download your admit card?

  1. Directly download the SSC CHSL Admit Cardfor your state.
  2. The Admit Card can also be downloaded through the official site
  3. Find and click on the Admit Card Button.
  4. A new page will open.
  5. Log in with your Registration number, password and press submit.
  6. A new page will open displaying the candidate’s Admit Card
  7. Download the admit card and save it for future use. 
  8. We suggest that candidates take 3-4 print outs of their Tier 1 CHSL Admit card just to be safe.

*The Tier 2 Admit card will be announced after the declaration of Tier 1 Result.

 SSC CHSL Vacancy 2019

 SSC has announced a total of 5789 vacancies for SSC CHSL 2019. The vacancies announced this time around is a lot more than the previous year, when SSC announced 3271 vacancies for 2017.

SSC CHSL Selection Process 

Candidates who clear all 3 Tiers of the examination are selected on the basis of their merit. Candidates personal preference is also taken into account with the merit while allocating positions in departments. 

  1. CHSL Recruitment 2019 will be selecting candidates for the post of Lower Divisional Clerks & Court Clerks, Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistants and Data Entry Operators.
  2. In order to be selected, the candidates have to clear all 3 Tiers ( Tier 1, Tier 2 & Tier 3)
  3. Final documentation is done after all 3 tiers are cleared.
  4. Anybody who doesn't clear the documentation process is dropped from the selection process. 

How are Ties Resolved in SSC CHSL? 

  1. Tier 1 + Tier 2 marks are calculated. 
  2. Which candidate scores higher in Tier 2.
  3. Which candidate scores higher in Tier 3.
  4. The date of birth of the candidates. The Older candidate is given preference. 
  5. The alphabetical order in which the candidate's name appears.

Preparation Tips for SSC CHSL 

The Tier 1 Exam is just about to commence. The preparation tips will help in guiding you and will get you ready for any hurdle that you might face. Keep these important tips in mind-

  • Solve Mock Tests and previous year question papers every day.
  • Go through the Previous year question papers 
  • The high scoring topics in Reasoning section are- puzzles, figure-based questions, analogy, coding-decoding, series. Make sure to get a good understanding on these topics so you can attempt most questions asked from them. 
  • While preparing for the GK section, make sure you give time to both Static G.K and current affairs.
  • It is important to know about awards, head of states, neighbouring countries, books & authors.
  • Keeping tabs of popular news and current affairs will help a lot. 
  • Allot at least 2 hours to practice Quantitative Aptitude. It is considered to be the most challenging section in the paper.
  • Go through all important Formulas every day so you can memorize it by heart.

  • Reading the newspaper regularly will help your General Awareness, Grammar & Vocabulary.

SSC CHSL Application Form 2019
