RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 

The recruitment process includes the 1st phase automated test (CBT), the 2nd phase automated test (CBT), Typing Skills Test / Computer-Based Test (if applicable), and Document Verification / Medical Examination. Selection depends on merit based on the 4 mentioned recruitment steps.

There must be a two-step computerized test (CBT) followed by a skill test (Station Master Computer Aptitude Test and Traffic Assistant, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk, cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant with Typist and Senior Time Holder). Document verification and medical examinations then take place.

Important Points for CBT 1 Exam Pattern:-

  • Step 1 CBT is of the screening type, and the standard for CBT questions will generally be following the training standards prescribed for the posts.
  • The normalized score of the 1st phase CBT is used to select candidates for the 2nd phase CBT based on their merit.
  • Negative marking is applicable in the exam- 1/3 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Minimum percentage for points for suitability in different categories: UR-40%, EWS40%, OBC (non-creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. These percentages of suitability marks can be reduced by 2% for PWD candidates in the event of a shortage of PWD candidates for positions reserved for them.
