Rajasthan Judiciary Prelims 2021 Exam Pattern

In the Preliminary Examination, 70% weightage shall be given to the Law Paper-I and Law Paper-ll, while 30% weightage for language proficiency. Check Important Topics for Prelims from Rajasthan Judiciary Syllabus.

In prelims, your proficiency in Hindi and English language is tested. The preliminary exam will consist of 100 objective type MCQ questions, and each question carries one mark.

RJS Prelims Marking Scheme & Qualifying Marks

In the prelims exam, you will be awarded one mark for each correct answer. There is no negative marking in the Rajasthan Judicial services examination

  • If you belong to the general category, you must score above 45% marks in the prelims exam to get shortlisted for the Mains exam.
  • For SC/ST category, the minimum qualifying percentage will be 40%

Rajasthan Judiciary Mains Exam Pattern

The mains exam consists of four papers: Paper I: Law, Paper-II: Law, Paper III: Hindi Essay, Paper IV: English Essay.

RJS Mains Marking Scheme and Qualifying Marks

The total marks for the mains exam are 300. Paper 1 and 2 of Law is conducted for 200 marks and Language paper for 100 marks. In the language section, Hindi and English Essay carries 50 marks each.

  • If you belong to the general category, you have to score a minimum of 35% marks in each law paper and 40% marks in aggregate.
  • For the SC/ST category, the minimum percentage of marks will be 30% for papers 1 and 2, and the aggregate must be 35%.

Rajasthan Civil Judge Interview Process

You will get shortlisted for the interview/viva-voce only if you score more than 35% marks in the prelims and mains examination.

The interview is conducted for a total of 35 marks. You are tested on your character, personality, and suitability for the job in the discussion. Also, you will be tested on general knowledge, including the acquaintance of current affairs and current issues.

  • Note that the questions asked will be general rather than direct law questions. 
  • If you belong to the general category, you must score 40% marks in the written exam and interview.
  • Suppose you belong to the SC/ST category. In that case, you have to score at least 35% marks in the written exam, and interview aggregateRajasthan High Court will prepare the final merit listed based on the sum of marks obtained in the written exam and interview.


How many papers are there in Rajasthan judicial services mains examination?

There are a total of four papers in RJS mains paper, which consists of two law papers of 100 marks each and two language papers of 50 marks each.

What is the RJS prelims exam pattern?

In the RJS Preliminary Examination 70 percent weightage shall be given to the subjects prescribed in syllabus for Law Paper-I and Law Paper-ll, and 30 percent weightage shall be given to test proficiency in Hindi and English language. 

What is the RJS mains 2021 exam pattern?

There will be four papers in Rajasthan judiciary mains examinations for law and language skills evaluation, which consists of two law papers of 100 marks with a duration of three hours each and two language papers of 50 marks with a duration of two hours each. The mains exam will consist of writing descriptive questions and only the candidates who have been declared successful in this test will be eligible for the Interview process.

Is it mandatory to attend RJS Interview?

Yes. As per the Rajasthan Judiciary exam pattern, it is mandatory to attend the interview process.

Is marks scored in RJS prelims exam will be considered for final merit list?

No. As per the RJS civil judge exam pattern, the marks scored in the prelims exam will not be considered while preparing the final merit list. These marks will be considered only for shortlisting the candidates to the Mains exam.

Is there negative marking in RJS Exam?

No. There is no negative marking the Rajasthan Civil Judge exam.
