Rajasthan Judiciary Prelims 2021 Exam Pattern

Your proficiency in Hindi and English language will be tested in the prelims exam. The preliminary exam will consist of 100 objective type MCQ questions and each question carries 1 mark.

RJS Prelims Marking Scheme & Qualifying Marks

In the prelims exam, you will be awarded +1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer. Since there is no negative marking in the exam, no marks will be added or deducted for wrongly answered questions or unattempted questions.

  • If you belong to the general category, then you must score above 45% marks in the prelims exam to get shortlisted for the Mains exam.
  • For SC/ST category, the minimum qualifying percentage will be 40%

The mains exam consists of four papers: Paper I: Law, Paper-II: Law, Paper III: Hindi Essay, Paper IV: English Essay.

In this exam, the questions are designed to test your legal knowledge and general awareness.

RJS Mains Marking Scheme and Qualifying Marks

The mains exam is conducted for a total of 300 marks where Law Paper 1 and Law paper 2 is conducted for 200 marks and Language paper for 100 marks. In the language section, Hindi and English Essay carries 50 marks each.

  • If you belong to the general category, you have to score a minimum of 35% marks in each of the law papers and 40% marks in aggregate.
  • For SC/ST category, the minimum percentage of marks will be 30% for paper 1 and paper 2 and the aggregate must be 35%.

Rajasthan Civil Judge Interview Process

You will get shortlisted for the interview/viva-voce only if you score more than 35% marks in the prelims and mains examination.

The interview is conducted for a total of 35 marks. In an interview, you will be tested on your character, personality, and suitability for the job. Also, you will be tested on general knowledge including the acquaintance of current affairs and current issues.

  • Note that the questions that may be posed will be of a general nature rather than direct law questions. 
  • If you belong to the general category, then you have to score 40% marks in aggregate of written exam and interview.
  • If you belong to SC/ST category, you have to score at least 35% marks in aggregate of written exam and interview.
  • The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the sum of marks obtained in written exam and interview.

No. As per the RJS civil judge exam pattern, the marks scored in the prelims exam will not be considered while preparing the final merit list. These marks will be considered only for shortlisting the candidates to the Mains exam.
