Technical Requirements for NLAT 2020 Exam

Candidates appearing for the National Law Aptitude Test 2020 must ensure that their computer systems meet the following specifications to take the test.

  • Supported Devices: Desktop computers and laptop computers are the only devices allowed to take the test. Using tablets and other mobile devices, including phones, shall not be supported nor permitted in the NLAT 2020
  • Operating System: The system must have Windows 7 or above (Windows 10 recommended) operating system. The examination system will not run on any other operating systems, such as Mac OS, Linux, etc.
  • Minimum Configuration: Processor: Core 2 Duo and above; Processor speed: 1.5 GHz and above; RAM: minimum 1 GB.
  • Browser: Google Chrome (84.0.4147.135 or later) only
  • The user account must have administrator privileges to install the required applications.
  • Pop-up blockers must be disabled on the web browser.
  • Make sure to enable the javascript 
  • Disable the antivirus on the system
  • Minimum Internet Bandwidth: 1 Mbps minimum; the remote proctoring software streams exam data, including audio and video, directly to the cloud as you take the NLAT 2020.
  • Make sure to set the system time with Indian Standard Time (GMT +5:30).
  • The system should have integrated webcam
  • Avoid using video conferencing services, screen sharing/ remote screen projection services, virtual machines, etc. Otherwise, candidates will be disqualified from the exam.
  • Ensure that your system has integrated microphone
  • Use of wired/ wireless headphones/ earphones/ other audio devices shall not be permitted while taking the exam.
  • Candidates must download and install the “Safe Assessment Browser (SAB) Tool.”
