The National Institute of Fashion Technology published the official application form for NIFT 2023 for B. Des, B.F. Tech and other programs on November 01 2023.

You can submit the application form with regular payment until December 31, 2022; however, registrations may also be submitted after that date for a late fee of INR 5000.

NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2023

Before filling out the application form, checking whether you meet the NIFT Eligibility Criteria is vital. 

The eligibility conditions for both UG and PG level programs are given below: 

Age Limit

  • Not more than 24 years. However, the exam conducting body will provide age relaxation of up to 5 years for the SC/ST/PWD category.
  • There is no upper age limit for PG courses.

Academic Qualification

The educational qualification varies for each course. Check the detailed required qualifications for different courses from the post below.

For B. Des Program

You should have completed your class 12 qualifying examination or equivalent from any recognized Board or university.

For B. F. Tech Programme

You must have completed or appeared for the 10+2 qualifying examination or equivalent from any recognized Board, having studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as a subject combination.

For MFM Programme

Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized Institute/University.

For M. F. Tech Programme

B. F. Tech. From NIFT, OR, B. E/B. Tech. from a recognized Institute/University.

NIFT Application Form 2023

You must make sure to fill out the application form on or before the last date. You can follow the steps below to fill out the NIFT online form without errors.

  • Visit the official website, i.e. www.nift.ac.in

  • Register on the official website before proceeding to fill out the application. Your login credentials will be sent to the registered email address upon successful registration email.

  • Log in using the credentials to access and fill out the Application Form. Fill in all the mandatory fields with the correct information.

  • You will need to upload scanned copies of recent passport-size coloured photographs and signatures in black on white background in JPG/JPEG format.

  • After uploading the required documents, you can pay the application fee online via Credit/Debit Card or offline via demand draft. In the case of offline fee payment, you must draw a Demand Draft of the requisite amount in favour of 'NIFT HO' payable in New Delhi.

  • You must send the Demand Draft along with a printout of the filled-in Application Form duly completed in all respects (via Speed Post/Registered Post/Courier Service) to the following address:

Essential Guidelines for NIFT CAT Exam

As per the latest notice released by the NIFT, the creative ability test (CAT) will be conducted remote-proctored this year. 

To take the CAT exam, you will need two devices:

  • Device 1: Mobile/Laptop/PC/Tablet with a working camera, microphone, and latest Chrome browser, and should have access to the Internet using 4G/Broadband.
  • Device 2: Android Mobile/Tablet for clicking photos of the answer sheets.
  • Do not allow other people to enter the room while you are taking the exam.
  • Keep blank A4 sheets, pencils, erasers, pens, colours, and drinking water handy before taking the exam.

NIFT Exam Pattern 2023

The entrance exam checks your knowledge, aptitude, and skills for your chosen program. As per the NIFT Entrance Test Pattern, you need to clear Written-test, Situation Test, and Group Discussion/Personal Interview to be eligible for final selection. The written test is further divided into the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT).

Creative Ability Test (CAT) for B.Des and M.Des

Situation Test

You will be allowed to write a situation test only if you score above the cut-off marks in the Written exam. Your skills for material handling and innovative ability as per the given situation with the material provided are evaluated in this exam.

Group Discussion/ Personal Interview

The final stage of NIFT 2023 will be the Personal Interview round. The Interview Panel is based on your academic and co-curricular achievements, creative and lateral thinking ability, and communication skills. NIFT Admit Card 2023

The admit card is a necessary document without which you will not be allowed to appear for the examination. You should keep in mind specific points regarding the NIFT Admit Card.

  • The NIFT admit card is released in the form of a PDF.
  • You can download the Admit Card by visiting the official website.
  • You must enter your application number and date of birth to download the admit card.

NIFT Result 2023

NIFT Cut-Off 2023

The cut-off marks are the minimum qualifying marks you need to secure to be selected for the exam. NIFT Cut Off is the closing rank set by participating institutes, and the same will vary across NIFT campuses.

NIFT Admission Process 2023

You must register through the official website to participate in the NIFT 2023 counselling process. You need to enter your choice of campus for the counselling session.

  • You must download the call letter online for the GD and PI Interview rounds by entering your application number, date of birth, and roll number.
  • At the time of counselling, document verification will also be done.
  • Though the institute does not charge any fee for the preliminary round of counselling, you have to pay each subsequent INR 5000 for each round of counselling.

Documents Required at the time of NIFT Counselling 2023

The following documents are required at the time of the NIFT Counselling process:

  • All-Academic Certificates up to qualifying examination. In case of a final exam appearing candidate whose result is due, all original mark sheets of the previous semester/year must be presented along with the date sheet/admit card for examination.
  • Demand Draft of requisite fee in favour of 'NIFT HO.' Payable at New Delhi has to be submitted. You should mention your name, counselling date, contact number, program name, NIFT Rank, and Roll Number at the back of the DD.
  • Proof of DOB
  • You should submit all documents in the prescribed format supporting the reservation claim.
  • Parents' Income Certificate as the basis for Tuition fee funding.

Situation Test

You will be allowed to write a situation test only if you score above the cut-off marks in the Written exam. Your skills for material handling and innovative ability as per the given situation with the material provided are evaluated in this exam.

Group Discussion/ Personal Interview

The final stage of NIFT 2023 will be the Personal Interview round. The Interview Panel is based on your academic and co-curricular achievements, creative and lateral thinking ability, and communication skills. The admit card is a necessary document without which you will not be allowed to appear for the examination. You should keep in mind specific points regarding the NIFT Admit Card.

NIFT Exam Centers 2023

NIFT Result 2023

The National Institute of Technology will release the result on its official website. The result will be released in the form of a merit list.

The NIFT Result will be released separately for B.Des and M.Des courses.

NIFT Cut-Off 2023

The cut-off marks are the minimum qualifying marks you need to secure to be selected for the exam. NIFT Cut Off is the closing rank set by participating institutes, and the same will vary across NIFT campuses.

NIFT Admission Process 2023

You must register through the official website to participate in the NIFT 2023 counselling process. You need to enter your choice of campus for the counselling session.

  • You must download the call letter online for the GD and PI Interview rounds by entering your application number, date of birth, and roll number.
  • At the time of counselling, document verification will also be done.
  • Though the institute does not charge any fee for the preliminary round of counselling, you have to pay each subsequent INR 5000 for each round of counselling.

Documents Required at the time of NIFT Counselling 2023

The following documents are required at the time of the NIFT Counselling process:

  • All-Academic Certificates up to qualifying examination. In case of a final exam appearing candidate whose result is due, all original mark sheets of the previous semester/year must be presented along with the date sheet/admit card for examination.
  • Demand Draft of requisite fee in favour of 'NIFT HO.' Payable at New Delhi has to be submitted. You should mention your name, counselling date, contact number, program name, NIFT Rank, and Roll Number at the back of the DD.
  • Proof of DOB
  • You should submit all documents in the prescribed format supporting the reservation claim.
  • Parents' Income Certificate as the basis for Tuition fee funding.
  • Medical certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
  • Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- for seeking only provisional admission if the qualifying examination result is due.
  • Anti-Ragging Declaration and Declaration regarding Fee Refund.

Frequently Asked Questions

The candidate's age should be not more than 24 years as of 01 August 2022 to apply for the NIFT exam. However, 5 years of age relaxation will be provided to SC/ST category candidates.
