IIM Calcutta 2024 Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria or the IIM Calcutta admission criteria vary for different programs. Ensure you meet the specific requirements for the program you are interested in. 

Doctoral Programs, MBA

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories], from any recognized University or educational institution.

Candidates who have finished degree prerequisites and are awaiting results and taking the last year of the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification test are both eligible to apply. 

Note: Applicants should note that mere fulfilment of the minimum CAT exam criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IIMs. 

MBAEx

• A bachelor's degree (minimum 10+2+3 years of formal education) or equivalent in any discipline 
• At least 5 years of full-time post-qualification managerial/professional experience as of March 31, 2024. 
• Valid GMAT Score (taken within the last 36 months of application date).

PGPEX-VLM

• First-Class Graduate Engineers with First Division/ First Class Marks from Secondary Examination onwards. 
• Candidates are advised to ensure meeting the minimum years of work experience to remain eligible for admissions. If not, the candidature will not be considered further for the admissions process and the application fee will not be refunded. 
• And valid score in VLMAT. 

PGDBA

One must clear the PGDBA Admission Test to study the PGDBA program.

• A candidate must hold a graduate/ post graduate degree with 10 + 2 + 4 or 10 + 2 + 5 or 10 + 2 + 3 + 2, with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B.Tech./ B.E./ M.Sc./ M.Com. or equivalent). One-year MBA will not be considered equivalent of M.Sc./ M.Com. 
• Candidates with 10 + 3 (Engineering diploma) + 3 (lateral entry into B.E./ B.Tech.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B.Tech./ B.E.), or with 10 + 2 + 4 (B.Sc.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B.Sc.), or with B.Com. + CA with at least 60% marks (Intermediate and Final examinations of the CA considered together) are also eligible. 
• For SC/ST and Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.

IIM Calcutta 2024 Application Process 

User Registration 

• At first, candidates need to get registered in the portal as NEW USER by entering Name, Date of Birth, E-mail ID, Mobile Number, OTP and Captcha on the official website. 
• After successful registration, candidates will get a confirmation message (to be sent to their registered Mobile No. and E-mail ID). 
• A registered candidate will be allowed to login into the portal by entering his/her registered E-mail address and OTP (to be sent to their registered Mobile No. and E-mail ID) for filling up the Application Form. 
• Ensure the respective entrance exam applications are filled accurately and completed before the last date.
