  • IBPS released the official notification for the recruitment of PO and Clerk posts across India. IBPS has this year announced special instructions to be followed during the exam due to the current situation. Also, pre-exam training shall not be conducted this year to avoid huge gathering.
  • This year, a total of 10213 vacancies have been announced through IBPS RRB Recruitment 2020. 
  • Lakhs of students appear for the exam every year due to its high paid IBPS RRB Salary and job profile. The average in-hand salary of Officer Scale-I ranges from Rs 45000 to Rs 50000 while for office assistant the salary is Rs 15000 to Rs 20000.
  • Candidates aged between 18-28 years are eligible to apply for the IBPS Regional Rural Bank 2020 Recruitment.
  • IBPS RRB Apply Online Link is activated on July 01, 2020. The registrations shall be accepted in Online mode only. Also, the mode of payment of application fee is restricted to online only.

As per the IBPS Calendar, the RRB PO Notification was to be released on June 14, 2020. After the delay due to the current situation, it has been published on the official website on June 30, 2020. IBPS Regional Rural Bank Pre-Exam Training 2020

This year the Pre-Exam Training might not be conducted due to the current scenario. However, if the situation is pleasantly controlled then Pre-Exam Training will be conducted at the designated centres. The Pre-Exam Training is conducted by the Regional Rural Banks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minorities/ExS/PwBD for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Minority Communities for the Post of Officer Scale-I.

While filling the online application form, candidates must fill the relevant option if required pre-exam training. any expenses regarding travelling, boarding, lodging etc. will have to be borne by the Candidate for attending the Pre-Examination Training programme at the designated Centers. IBPS, however, reserves the right to cancel any of the Pre- Examination Training Centers and/ or add some other Centers and/ or make alternate arrangements, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility, etc.

IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Dates

The notification for Rural Regional Bank Recruitment was to be released in the mid of June 2020. The delay was due to the current situation and IBPS RRB Official Notification PDF has now been published on the website. The exam date has been announced tentatively by the authority. The Prelims exam is scheduled for September and the mains or single level exam will be conducted in the month of October/November 2020. IBPS RRB 2020 Vacancy List

The official notification published today includes the category-wise and bank-wise vacancy for the RRB PO, RRB Clerk, Officer Scale 2 and Officer Scale 3 recruitment. The total vacancies announced this year (inclusive of PwD and ExS categories) are 10213. However, if we exclude them, the total IBPS RRB 2020 Vacancy is 9509. Comparing to the last year, there has been a rise of around 1100 vacancies. 

  • This year the authority has announced 3801 RRB PO Vacancy while in 2019 the vacancies were 3382. Thus, approximately 500 more vacancies are announced for this post in 2020.
  • Considering the previous year vacancies announced for RRB Clerk and the vacancies announced this year, their difference equates to 808. 4496 vacancies have been announced for Clerical post in 2020.

IBPS RRB 2020 Eligibility Criteria 

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria includes parameters set by the conducting body to accept applications for the recruitment. All the applicants who satisfy these norms shall be permitted to sit for the exam this year.
IBPS holds the authority to check the eligibility of the candidate at any stage of the exam. If the authority finds any discrepancy or non-fulfilment of any criteria, it can cancel the candidature. Here are the important criteria that one must fulfil before beginning the registration process:

Nationality

A candidate must be either -

  • (i) a Citizen of India or
  • (ii) a subject of Nepal or
  • (iii) a subject of Bhutan or
  • (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
  • (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Language

In order to be eligible for Interview, candidates applying for the post of Office Assistant must possess proficiency in the local language of the State/ UT that particular RRB.

Educational Qualification

Before applying to any of the posts, it is important to check whether candidates meet the educational Qualification for that post. The following Table has the required Educational Eligibility:

Law Officer Degree from a recognized University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. 
Treasury Manager Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution with 1 Year experience in the respective field
Marketing Officer MBA in Marketing from a recognized university with 1 Year experience in the respective field
Agricultural Officer Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with 2 Years’ experience in the respective field.
Officer Scale 3 Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Age Limit

  • You will receive Provisional Registration ID and password to the registered mobile number and E-mail ID
  • Save these details which are required for future use.

Uploading Documents

  • Login to your account using the login credentials received after registration
  • Click on the link "Upload Documents"
  • Upload the documents in the specified documents correctly.
  • Ensure to upload all the documents in specified space provided

Filling Details 

  • Fill in all the details like personal details, educational qualification, and more correctly.
  • Under the survey tab, mention the choice of organizations where you desire to be recruited and preview the details mentioned in the form.
  • Click on ‘I Agree’ to declare the information you have entered is correct.
  • Click on Submit after entering all details.

Office Assistant Salary 

  • The pay scale for Office Assistant is Rs 7200-(400/3)-8400--(500/3)-9900-(600/4)-12300-(700/7)-17200-(1300/1)-18500-(800/1)-19300
  • The In-hand salary of the Office Assistant varies from Rs 15,000-20,000/-

IBPS RRB PO

  • Candidates selected for PO post in Regional Rural Bank need to undergo a training program after which they will placed as Assistant Manager in respective Bank.
  • Officer Scale 1 need to look after the day to day retail banking operations, loan disbursement, monitoring credit portfolio, NPA Recovery, audit report preparation.
  • Also, sometimes, the PO needs to check cash receipts, cash payments/verification.

IBPS RRB Clerk

  • The Office Assistants are responsible for opening accounts, cash transactions, passbook printing, fund/balance transfers, payment withdrawal, handle cash counters, etc
  • Major responsibilities include cater to the requirements of rural masses, listening to financial queries faced by farmers.

IBPS RRB Selection Process

Here is the Selection Process for the Recruitment of both Officer and Assistant post. The Selection process for Office Assistant Scale I is two-tier and comprises Prelims and Mains.

Office Assistant: Selection Process for Office Assistant Comprises of the following phases:

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Mains Exam

Officer Scale I: It comprises a three-tier selection process for Officer Scale I and comprises Prelims, Mains, and GD/Interview. 

Officer Scale-II, Scale-III: There will be a Single level Exam for Officer Scale-II and Scale III. This applies to General Banking Officer and Specialist cadre Officer in Scale-II. Even Officer Scale III are eligible for the Single Level exam only.

IBPS RRB Registrations v/s No of Students Appeared

  • In 2017-18, a total of 13.34 lakh candidates had registered for the post of Office Assistant, and 10.35 had filled the application forms for Officers post.
  • Out of the total registered candidates, a total of 10.31 lakh candidates had appeared in the exam for Office Assistant post and 8.16 lakh for Officers' post.
  • In 2018-19, a total of 8.65 lakh candidates had registered for Office Assistant post and 6.54 lakh for Officers post.

A. Yes. Proficiency in the local language is essential for the posts of Officer Scale-1 and Office Assistant.

Q. How to calculate the percentage?

A. The percentage should be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semesters(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honors/options/additional optional subject if any. Fractions will be ignored. i.e., 59.99% will be treated at less than 60%.

Candidates applying for Office Assistant post, seeking age relaxation, will be required to submit copies of necessary certificates at the time of verification of documents on the day or before the day of joining the allotted RRB.

Q. Can I make the Changes in the Application Form after submission?

A. No. Particulars mentioned in the online application will be considered final and no change/modifications will be allowed after submission of the online application form. Hence the application needs to be filled with utmost care.
