Firstly, there are two types of commissions that can employ talented candidates for the Army i.e., the Permanent Commission and the Short Service Commission.

  • Permanent Commission: Under this category, a candidate can serve the nation until the last day of retirement. Under this commission, candidates can attempt to enter Officer Grade in the Indian Army either after your high-school graduation or after your undergraduate/engineering graduation. These permanent commissions are applicable only for male candidates and the training will be held in National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune, the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun, or the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya.

Intermediate Entry

Under the Intermediate entry category, there are 2 forms that include both after completion of 10+2 high school. Have a look at the comparison between technical and Non-technical entry.

Graduate UPSC Entry

Graduate Technical Entry

This is basically for students who wish to apply in their pre-final year of Engineering Students who have done graduation in BE/BTech Candidates who have done their Post Graduate MA/MSc in notified streams.
