How to Get a Certificate of Practice After Passing AIBE?

Candidates possessing the AIBE Certificate of Practice are eligible to practice as lawyers. The Bar Council of India conducts the AIBE examination annually twice. If you are an advocate who has cleared the four-year LLB course or five-year integrated LLB course, then you are eligible to write the AIBE exam.

The AIBE exam is conducted in a total of forty exam cities. You can choose to write the AIBE exam in a total of eleven languages.

The examination has to be taken by those who wish to get the right to practice in Indian Courts. 

The basic prerequisite to getting the AIBE Certificate of Practice is scoring marks more than the prescribed minimum marks, i.e., 38 for the open category and 33 for the SC/ST category.

AIBE Certificate of Practice Eligibility Criteria

The Bar Council of India has listed the eligibility criteria clearing, which makes one eligible to write and register for the examination. 

  • You should have completed a BA LLB course of four duration or an LLB integrated course of five years. 
  • There is no prescribed age limit to write the AIBE exam. 
  • There is no prescribed number of attempts to write the exam. However, the AIBE exam is usually held twice a year.
