XAT 2018 – Some Key Highlights

XAT Exam Analysis over the years clearly states that XAT exam goes for substantial changes each and every year. There are significant changes in each XAT exam pattern, number of questions, sectional composition, difficulty level, time duration which impacts and creates a different XAT analysis for each XAT exam.

Some Significant Changes

XAT 2018 is the first online computer based XAT exam

• Total Questions in XAT 2018 are 98
• Number of MCQs are 97
• 98th question on Essay Writing is descriptive
• Question on Essay Writing is also computer based
• 200 words will be the maximum word limit for Essay Writing on computer screen
• Each MCQ is followed by 5 answer options
• Correct answer for MCQ will get 1 mark
• Maximum 3 marks will be awarded for Essay writing
• Negative marking -0.25 (¼) for MCQs from Sl no.1 to 72 will be imposed
• No negative marking is applicable for MCQs from Sl No. 73 to 97 (GK questions)
• Candidates are allowed to submit test paper after 30 minutes of the test commencement time
• XAT 2018 test paper has time duration of 3½ hours from 10 AM to 1.35 PM
