UPSC IAS Eligibility Criteria 2019
Dear Aspirants,
As UPSC Civil Services 2019 Prelims registration is Scheduled to start from 19th February 2019, Aspirants must check all the UPSC IAS Eligibility Criteria required for the application to IAS examination 2019. Application for the recruitment will be subject to various eligibility criteria. In this article, we will be discussing various Criteria such as Nationality, Age Limit, Educational Qualification, Number of attempts and Age Relaxation.
UPSC IAS Eligibility Criteria:
⇒ Nationality:
- A Candidate must be a citizen of India Candidate must be a citizen of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan.
- Candidates must be a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, to be settled permanently in India.
- A Candidate must be a person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Zaire, or Zambia with an intention of permanently settling in India.
⇒ Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized University or equivalent.
- Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying exam and are awaiting results or those who are yet to appear for the qualifying exam are also eligible for the prelims exam. In this case, candidates will have to produce proof of passing the exam along with the application for the mains exam.
- Candidates having professional or technical qualifications recognized by the govt. or equivalent is also eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have successfully passed the final year of MBBS or any other medical exam but are yet to complete the internship can also appear for the mains exam. However, They must submit a certificate from the concerned university in order to show that they have passed the final professional medical examination.
⇒ Age Limit
- The Age limit will be counted as on 1st August 2019.
- He/ She must have been born not before 2nd August 1987 and no later than 1st August 1998.
- Minimum Age:- 21 Years
- Maximum Age:- 32 Years
Though there is an upper age limit for candidates applying for UPSC IAS examination, candidates from below mentioned categories may apply for age relaxation as mentioned below;
