TISS or the Tata Institute of Social Sciences conducts BAT or Bachelors admission Test for Bachelor of Arts course. The BAT exam is to gain admission into three years Bachelor of Arts program in any of the designated TISS institutes. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for TISS BAT 2018 by filling the online application form from the TISS Official website. Every year around 30,000 to 40,000 candidates apply for TISS BAT. TISS has launched the Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the academic year 2012. TISS BAT 2018 is conducted to gain admission into TISS 3-year BA programs for the academic years of 2018-2021. The total intake is 180 seats in  BA Programme in Social Sciences and 40 seats in B.A. (Hons) in Social Work. The details of seats by campus and programme are presented below:

Location: Hyderabad, Tuljapur, Guwahati. Please note that Mumbai Campus does not offer BA courses.

TISS BAT 2018 Exam Pattern:

The entrance test will be of 90 minutes duration and the total marks will be 100. The TISS BAT 2018 entrance test would combine both Part A and Part B as mentioned below.

Part A – will be a 60-minute test with multiple choice questions on current affairs, social awareness and logical and analytical reasoning, carrying 60 marks.

Part B – will be a written test with a set of descriptive questions in English. The candidate is expected to write two short answers in 30 minutes carrying 40 marks. It is compulsory for the candidates to attempt both the parts and make sure that they qualify in both the modes.

Features of the TISS BA:

The TISS three-year undergraduate liberal arts programme that provides an all-rounded understanding of multi-disciplinary and social sciences education. The programme provides foundational understanding in five key Social Sciences subjects – Sociology, Economics, Political Science, History and Psychology during the first two years and then introduces the students to interdisciplinary subjects like Environment, Development and Gender in the third year.

List of Test Cities for TISS BAT 2018:

The entrance test will be held in 21 cities and candidates need to specify any one city. Each city may have more than one center depending on the number of applicants. The admit card will have this information.
