The UPSC toppers 2015-16: Success Story of the Top Rank Holders
Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Examination every year to select candidates in the IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B.’The result of 2015-16 has been announced and this time the topper is a very young girl.
The difficulty level of the exam makes it tough for the candidates to extract motivation out of their general time management and study plan. While the success story of 22-year of Tina Dabi, the UPSC 2015 topper with AIR 1 is nothing less than a motivation, it is important to know what made them win it all.

Words of Wisdom from Tina Dabi to Civil Services Aspirants
Tina Dabi, who hails from Delhi, said that she had to cross check the merit list of UPSC to believe that she had topped the examination. It was her first attempt and even though she believed that she would qualify the examination, but did not expect being the AIR 1 holder.
Five things that worked in her favour:
- Hard work
Despite being a political science student, Tina Dabi topped the examination. Her weaker sections were Math and Science, which she focussed completely.
Choosing local cadre to serve the society
The second rank holder, ATHAR AAMIR UL SHAFI KHAN, hailing from the state of Jammu & Kashmir, got the second rank, despite getting selected in the civil services examination last year. He aspired for IAS, which he achieved. Aspiration and determination worked in his favour.
Both the toppers have opted their local cadre so as to serve the people of their society. The two believe that opting for the local cadre helps them understand the problems at the grass root level and serve the society in a better manner.
