Skill test in Stenography:

A part of the Stenographer exam will be the skill test where candidates need to have good typing speed.

Candidates who obtain qualifying marks in the examination will be called for a Skill Test. The skill test will be of qualifying in nature and consists of Typing test.

The candidates will have to appear for the stenography test and will be given a dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi(as per choice) at a speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade “C” and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade “D”. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer.

Question paper will be of Objective Multiple choice type. Questions will be set in Hindi and English except Part-III. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the question.

Negative Marking Scheme: Every Wrong answer will cost the candidate 0.25 marks. Each correct question earns the candidate 2 marks.

Tier II Paper of CHSL 2016 :

SSC CHSL Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in ‘Pen and Paper Mode. The duration of the paper would be for one hour. This paper is to assess the writing skills of the candidates required in Government jobs. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter / Application writing of approximately 150-200 words. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent. The performance in Tier II would be included in deciding merit. The paper will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Candidate can attempt Paper II in only 1 language either Hindi or English, bilingual answers will not be entertained.

Work Pressure: SSC Stenographer Vs SSC CHSL

Work Pressure in SSC CHSL may depend on which Grade you are posted in. In SSC CHSL, if you get Lower Division Clerk or Data Entry Operator, you will have a five day week.

Salary for SSC CHSL:

In SSC CHSL, if you get Postal Assistantt or Data Entry Operator, you will get a grade pay of 2400 and in hand salary of approx 24000. If you get LDC, your grade pay will be 1900 and an in-hand salary of approx 18000.In SSC CHSL, if you get Postal Assistant or DEO, you will get 2400 grade pay and inhand salary of approx 24000.If you get LDC, your grade pay will be  1900 and an inhand salary of approx 18000.
