SSC Scientific Assistant Tier I examination will be conducted from 20th November to 27th November 2017. This exam will be conducted to fill up around 1102 vacancies in the Indian Meteorological Department.

SSC Scientific Assistant Job Profile:
1) You have to support the scientist in research work and educational subject matter.
2) You have to assist the scientist in doing research on various projects of IMD.
3) You will be responsible for performing administrative tasks.
4) You have to perform research on weather forecasting, flood forecasting, and other related projects.
5) You also have to co-ordinate different studies for the successful completion of the project.
SSC Scientific Assistant Salary:
As a Scientific Assistant, you will be entitled to the following benefits and pay:
1) The pay band of Rs.9,300 – 34,800 has been revised to Rs.35,400 after the approval of the 7th Pay Commission.
2) You will get traveling allowances, HRA and DA i.e. your gross salary will be Rs.48,912.
3) The allowance is also decided based on the city:
X class cities: Rs.48,912
Y class cities: Rs.46,082
Z class cities: Rs.41,448
