It is ideal for those with minimum education of Class 10.Class 10 is the eligibility criteria for SSC MTS. The SSC MTS is abbreviated as Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff. The MTS exams are conducted to fill vacancies in Multi Tasking Staff in various ministries and departments of the central government.

SSC MTS or Multi Tasking Staff is a Group C Cadre position created after the recommendation of the 6th pay commission. Group D posts include positions like peon, ward boy, Ceaner, Sweeper, File Mover, Door Opener, Watchman, Pump Operator, Daftary, Farash, Chowkidar, Cleaner, Jamadar, Gardner, Junior Gestetner operator. The above posts are together known as SSC MTS and have been introduced after the 6th pay commission. .

SSC Multitasking Staff Exam consist of two stages:

  • Phase I Written exam
  • Phase II Descriptive exam

The written exam consist of total 150 marks for a duration of 2 hours.

In paper I, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The Paper I or Written Exam can be attempted in either English or Hindi and Candidates choose the medium of exam as per their choice. Candidates who are comfortable in Hindi can write in Hindi, while others can write in English. Candidates who qualify in the Phase I written exam will be called for Phase II or Descriptive paper.
