The Staff Selection Commission conducts SSC CPO Exam every year to fill in numerous posts of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police, Sub Inspector in CAPFs, Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF, Inspector posts and Sub Inspector Posts. Aspirants willing to apply for CPO must go through the detailed SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria 2020 before filling the application form.

  • As per the recent reports, the SSC CPO Notification 2020 is released on 17th June 2020, through which 1564 vacancies are released.
  • Candidates aged above 25 years cannot apply for SSC CPO 2020 Exam. Also, candidates who do not follow SSC CPO Qualification will be unable to apply for the exam.

SSC CPO eligibility criteria

SSC CPO Eligibility 2020 [Reservation and Suitability of Posts]

Reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC)/ Scheduled Tribes (ST)/ Other Backward Classes (OBC)/ Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) etc are as determined and communicated by the Indenting Ministries/ Departments/ Offices, as per extant Government Orders.

  • It is noted that the Commission does not have any role in deciding the number of vacancies of any User Department.
  • Implementation of reservation policy, maintaining reservation roster and earmarking of vacancies for different categories comes under the domain of the User Departments.
  • For the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, reservation is available for ex-servicemen and special categories of ex-servicemen.
  • As per the SSC CPO Requirements, 50% of vacancies will be reserved for the persons served in the Special Force/ NSG (Special Action Group), received QI “Qualified Instructors” grading in the commando course, officers worked in the specialized commando-type units, out of the quota meant for ex-servicemen.
  • The unfilled vacancies will be filled from amongst other available ex-servicemen candidates if a sufficient number of Ex-servicemen candidates are not available.

SSC CPO Nationality 2020

As per the SSC Norms, a candidate from the following regions is eligible to apply for SSC CPO. Check the required SSC CPO Eligibility criteria 2020 here.

  • Citizen of India
  • Subject of Nepal
  • Subject of Bhutan
  • The candidates who are a subject of Nepal or Bhutan must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the government of India.
  • A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the submission of eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

SSC CPO Educational Qualification 2020

  • To apply for SSC CPO Examination, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from any recognized university or equivalent.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year exams are also eligible to apply for the exam. However, they need to submit documentary evidence from the Board/ University in support thereof as on 01-01- 2021.
  • Male candidates applying for the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.
  • The programs in engineering, medicine, dental, nursing, pharmacy, architecture, and physiotherapy etc are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode. However, B. Tech. degree/ diploma in Engineering awarded by IGNOU to the students who were enrolled up to the academic year 2009-10 shall be treated as valid.
  • All candidates who have been declared qualified by the Commission in Computer Base Examination will be required to produce all relevant Certificates in original such as Mark sheets/Provisional Degree/ Diploma Certificate as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before 01-01-2021 failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled by the Commission.

SSC CPO Age Limit 2020

  • 20-25 years as on 01.01.2021 (i.e. candidates born not before 02.01.1996 and not later than 01.01.2001 are eligible).
  • The officials will accept the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate only, for determining the Age eligibility.
  • No subsequent request for the change of age will be considered or granted tasty Age.per the SSC CPO Eligibili

SSC CPO Age Relaxation 2020

As per the SSC CPO eligibility, age relaxation is not admissible to sons, daughters and dependents of ex-servicemen.
Therefore, such candidates should not indicate their category as ex-servicemen. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per the government norms.

  • Ex-servicemen (ESM) who have already secured employment in civil side under Government in Group C‟ & D‟ posts on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to ex-servicemen for their re-employment are not eligible for reservation in ESM category and fee concession.
  • Non-Graduate ex-servicemen who have not completed 15 years of service as on the last date for receipt of applications are not eligible for any post.
  • Candidates treated as Ex-servicemen must obtain the status within the stipulated period of one year from the closing date of receipt of applications.
  • The period of “Call up Service” of an ex-serviceman in the Armed Forces shall also be treated as service rendered in the Armed Forces for purpose of age relaxation as per rules.

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria for Physical Standard Test (PET)

  • The female candidates have no minimum requirement for the chest measurement.
  • The below table shows the SSC CPO 2020 eligibility criteria according to the physical standard test for both male and female.
  • It is important for candidates to check the SSC CPO Height Eligibility for SC before applying for the post.
  • The candidates’ height should be 170 cm ca s per the SSC CPO Height for OBC in order to eligible for the Physical Standard Test.

SSC CPO Eligibility for Physical Endurance Test (PET) 2020

As per the notification, the only candidates who will clear the SSC CPO Paper-I exam are eligible to appear in PST/ PET.

  • The required SSC CPO Exam Eligibility criteria for PET is as tabulated below.
  • The weight is corresponding to the height of the candidate for all posts.
  • Female candidates must meet the SSC CPO Eligibility for Women in order to get qualify in the Physical Endurance Test.
For Male Candidates 100 meters race in 16 seconds
1.6 km race in 6.5 min
Long Jump: 3.65 meters in 3 chances
High Jump: 1.2 meters in 3 chances
Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 meters in 3 chance
For Female Candidates 100 meters race in 18 seconds
800 meters race in 4 minutes
Long Jump: 2.7 meters in 3 chances
High Jump: 0.9 meters in 3 chances

SSC CPO Medical Examination Eligibility Criteria 2020

The candidates should have a minimum distant vision of 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction (without wearing glasses). The required SSC CPO SI Eligibility for Medical examination are:

  • Candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes.
  • Must possess high colour vision.
  • Candidate must be in good mental and physical condition.
  • Candidate should be free from any physical defect.
  • There is no X-ray of the chest for the female candidate.
  • The aspirants have to fulfil all criteria in SSC CPO Physical Test and Medical Examination and be of proper weight, Height and BMI.

SSC CPO Selection Process 2020

As per the SSC CPO 2020 Notification, there are four stages involved in the selection of candidates. Candidates qualifying all these four stages will be eligible for receiving the appointment for their applied post. The four stages involved in the selection are

  • Paper 1 – There are four sections in this stage each having 50 questions for 50 marks. The total time duration for completing the exam is 2 hours.
  • Paper 2 – This stage includes English Language and comprehension having 200 questions for 200 marks. The time duration to complete the exam is 2 hours.
  • PST/PET – This is a mandatory test for all posts. Candidates need to qualify the respective parameters fixed for each category like Height, Long jump, high jump, shot put, and more.
  • DME – This is a detailed medical examination including checking of eyesight, good mental health, body health, and more.
