SSC CHSL Notification 2017- Staff Selection Commission or SSC has been one of the biggest recruitment organizations India in public sector. The Staff Selection Commission Conducts Combined Higher Secondary Level(CHSL) exam on annual basis for recruitment in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the Government of India. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL, 10+2) exam for recruiting candidates in post of-SSC CHSL Recruitment 2017-

Eligibility Criteria (SSC CHSL Notification 2017):
Educational Qualification (As on 01.08.2018)
- Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- For Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
Age Limit: 18-27 years as on 01.08.2018 (Candidates born not before 02-08-1991 and not later than 01-08-2000).
Permissible relaxation in Upper age limit for different categories are as under:

Selection Process (SSC CHSL Notification 2017):
The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and Typing Test/ Skill Test (Tier-III).

This examination tier will consist of Objective Type – Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-II, III & IV.
There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
SSC CHSL Tier-II Exam Pattern for Descriptive Paper
Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in ‘Pen and Paper Mode. SSC CHSL Tier-II is a descriptive test that is designed to test the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. The paper would demand writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/Application writing of approximately 150-200 words.
- The exam is 60 minutes’ duration and carries 100 marks.
- The questions are based on 10th level.
- The exam is qualifying in nature.
- The exam duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped or suffer from cerebral palsy.
Tier-III Examination (SSC CHSL Notification 2017)
Tier-III of the Examination would be the Skill Test/ Typing Test which would be of qualifying nature. The final merit of the successful candidates would be determined on the basis of total score obtained by them in Tier-I and Tier-II.
Skill Test for Data Entry Operator:
- Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer.
- For post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG):- A speed Test of not less than 15000 key depressions per hour for data entry work to be ascertained through speed test on Computer
The ‘Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer.
For the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): The ‘speed of 15000 key depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter in English containing about 3700-4000 key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer.
Typing Test for LDC/ JSA and Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant:
Typing Test will be conducted for those candidates who qualify in the Computer Based Examination (Tier-I) and Descriptive Paper (Tier-II). Such Typing Test will be conducted in English or Hindi and candidates while applying for the Examination, will have to indicate his/ her choice/ option for Skill Test Medium in the Application Form.
Candidates opting for English medium should have typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m) and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute.
The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes. VH/ OH (afflicted by Cerebral Palsy) and OH with deformity in writing hand (with 40% disability and above) will be allowed 30 minutes including compensatory time 20 minutes.
Passage Dictators will be provided to VH candidates for the Typing test. The Passage Dictator will read out the passage to VH candidate within the allotted time period. Further, Passage Dictators will be allowed for Typing Test only to those VH candidates who have taken Scribe in the written examination.
35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to 10500 key depressions per hour and 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.
Final Selection: Final Selection will be based on the combined marks and performance in all the exams. Selection will also be based reservations and suitability of the candidate for the job.

SSC CHSL 2017 Admit Card (SSC CHSL Notification 2017)
Candidates who have successfully applied will be able to download SSC CHSL Admit Card 2017-18 from the official website of SSC (Staff Selection Commission). There won’t be any provision for sending the SSC CHSL call letter/ hall ticket via post. The admit card for SSC CHSL exam 2017 will be sequentially released, i.e. admit card for Tier-I will be released first and the admit card for Tier-II and Tier-III exam will be released after that.

SSC CHSL Result 2017 (SSC CHSL Notification 2017)
The SSC CHSL Result 2017 will be released in the following sequence-
Tier-I Exam Result: For a candidate to qualify for Tier II, he/she must clear the Tier-I level of SSC CHSL 2017 exam. Results for SSC CHSL will be declared on the official website.
Tier-II Exam Result: The Tier-II will be a descriptive test in English/Hindi which will be conducted offline. Once the exam is conducted, the result of tier 2 will be released.
Tier-III Exam Result: Tier-III exam is a skill test or Computer Proficiency Test. This skill test can be taken anywhere & anytime as per candidate’s availability. In order to qualify for Tier-III exam, a candidate needs to qualify for Tier-III exam. Results for the same will be declared once the exam has been conducted.
Final Result: The final result is deduced on the cumulative score of a candidate in both SSC CHSL Tier-II and Tier-III level of Examination.
Resolution of Tie cases: (SSC CHSL Notification 2017)
Tie cases will be resolved by applying one after another, as applicable till the Tie is resolved.:-
- Total Marks in Tier-I+Tier-II.
- Total marks of Tier-II Examination. iii) Total marks in Tier-I Examination. iv) Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
- v) Alphabetical order in which first names of the candidates appear.
Selection Process: (SSC CHSL Notification 2017)
Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-II Examination based on their performance in Tier-I.
Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-III Examination the basis of their performance in (Tier-I + Tier-II) subject to having minimum score of 33% in Tier-II.
Tier-III Examination I.e. Skill Test will be of qualifying type. The candidates who qualify Tier-III will be called for Document Verification to check the eligibility of candidates as per information given by him/ her in the online Application Form.
SSC CHSL 2017 Cut-Off (SSC CHSL Notification 2017)
SSC CHSL Cut-off 2017 will be declared after each level of examination for the same is conducted, i.e. Cut-Off for Tier-I of SSC CHSL 2017 exam will be declared after the commencement of Tier-I exam, the cut-off for Tier-II exam of SSC CHSL 2017 will be declared after the commencement of Tier-II exam and so on. There may be separate cut-offs for different posts i.e DEO, DEO Grade ‘A’, LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA in Tier-I and subsequent Tiers.
SSC CHSL 2017 exam will be conducted in three levels: Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III.
