SSC CHSL Exam Day Instructions (Revised)

The Staff Selection Commission has released the new set of guidelines due to the ongoing crisis across the country. All candidates are advised to follow the exam day instructions strictly at the exam center. Otherwise, they will be debarred from the exam.

  • All candidates must reach the exam center as per the time slot mentioned on the admit card.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall after the entry closing time.
  • Candidates should note that they will not be allowed to leave the exam hall for any reason before the completion of the exam.
  • The candidature of the candidate shall be cancelled if they do not fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the commission.
  • Do not carry watches, electronic gadgets, pens, magazines, paper chits, spy cameras, etc inside the exam hall.
  • The candidates must make sure that they do not appear in the examination more than once.

  • Candidates belonging to PwD category are entitled to compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour and assistance of a scribe.
  • It is mandatory to carry admission certificate, passport size photographs, identity card (passport/aadhaar card/driving license, PAN card/any other photo identity proof issued by Central government), face mask, hand sanitizer, transparent water bottle, print out of medical self-declaration form provided with the admission certificate to the examination.
  • All candidates should satisfy themselves that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions set by the commission.
  • To reach the exam venue on time, candidates are advised to visit the exam venue one day in advance.
  • All candidates are required to sanitize their hands before entering the examination hall.

  • Avoid wearing nose pins, bracelets, earrings, etc inside the examination center.
  • Candidates must note that scribe arranged by the PwD candidates should not be a candidate of CHSL exam. Otherwise, the candidature of both the candidates will get cancelled.
  • Aspirants can contact the concerned regional office of the commission if they have any doubt regarding the exam.
  • One-eyed candidates and partially blind candidates will not be entitled to a Scribe and they have to bring their own magnifying glass to the exam hall.
  • Make sure to drop the rough sheets in the designated box at the exit of the examination lab.
  • PwD candidates, other than those affected by blindness and cerebral palsy, who have opted for the facility of scribe and/or Compensatory time in their application form are required to produce the certificate as per Annexure-1 of the Notice of Examination for availing the facility of the scribe on the day of the exam.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to write the exam if they found drunk at the exam venue.
  • Candidates should follow the instructions of the exam functionaries of there is any interruption midway due to any technical snag or for any other reason.
  • The candidature of the candidate shall be summarily cancelled if they create any disturbance at the exam center.
  • Candidate must strictly follow the instructions given by the Exam Functionaries at the exam venue.
  • The candidate has to undergo the process of contactless Frisking through Handheld Metal Detector (HHMD).
  • Candidates must note that all exam labs are under Video Surveillance.
  • Candidates are advised do not carry handbags and prohibited items into the examination venue.
  • Electronic watch (timer) will be available on the computer screen allotted to candidates.
  • Candidate should ensure that they do not indulge in any unfair means and do not talk to each other after the commencement of the exam and during its entire duration.

Go through the list of important instructions given below that candidates must follow while appearing for the Tier 1 exam.

  • Candidates are advised to reach the exam hall before the gate closing time to avoid the last-minute crowd at the exam gate
  • Make sure to follow social distancing norms and maintain a distance of 6 feet between two candidates at the exam venue.
  • Mapping of roll number and lab number will be provided after verification of their Admission Certificate and ID Proof at the entry.

  • The photograph of the candidate will be captured at the registration desk and no thumb impression will be taken as a precautionary measure.
  • Candidates may be assigned another seat in case two candidates are allotted adjacent seats to maintain social distancing.
  • Candidates must make sure to sanitize their hands before and after filling the Commission Copy and Attendance Sheet.
  • The candidates must move out in an orderly manner on completion of a shift.
  • Make sure to drop the rough sheets at the exit of the examination lab.

1) What are the documents need to carry for the SSC CHSL Exam Center?

A) It is mandatory for the candidates to carry admit card to the SSC CHSL Exam Center to appear in the exam of Combined Higher Secondary Level conducted by SSC. Along with the admit card, candidates have to carry the following documents for the identification in the exam center.

  • 3 colored passport size photograph
