SSC CPO Job Profile, Roles and Responsibilities:
SSC CPO generally means that you will be part of the paramilitary force or CAPF. If you give SSC CPO exam, you will be appointed as sub-inspector with the Delhi police or as Assistant Sub-inspector in CISF. The CAPF is the Central armed police forces and comes under the home ministry. The CAPF brings under it the organization like the BSF (Border Security Force), CISF, CRPF(Central Reserve Police Force), ITBP, SSB (Seema Suraksha Bal). The BSF protects the border between India and Pakistan. The CRPF acts as Anti-riot and anti-Naxal force. The Police often maintain law and order.
Important Things to remember about SSC CPO:
This will mainly involve job regarding national security since you will be part of para-military forces. Unlike SSC CGL which is a job involving accounting, auditing, inspection, etc. SSC CPO will require good physical health in the long run. Persons with medical problems should avoid SSC CPO as it is not a desk job and will require very good physical vitality and health.

- SI in Delhi Police:- Grade Pay Rs. 4200, Group C
- SI In CAPFs:- Grade Pay Rs. 4200, Group-B
- ASI in CISF:- Grade Pay Rs 2800, Group C
SSC CPO Promotions:
CPO SI promotion procedure:
Candidates who are selected for ASI Post can join the CISF and can get promoted to the rank of sub-inspector after 5 years of continuous service. The promotions of the candidates ASI to SI for zonal security. Here promotions will depend on experience, expertise, performance, and number of years of service. Several factors will come into play for promotions in CPO.
Both SSC CGL And SSC CPO have their own place. However, SSC CPO must be an option only if you have a high level of physical endurance. SSC CGL is not a desk job, however, will involve a lot of dexterity.
