RRB NTPC Mains Result 2017-In a surprise move, the results for RRB NTPC mains have been announced today. The results have been announced for all candidates, but there is still no release of merit list from RRB. It was expected that the RRB NTPC results will be announced on May 27, 2017. However, the RRB went ahead and surprised everyone with this move.
RRB or Railway Recruitment Board has officially announced a new Post wise Vacancy status of various RRB Zones on its official website. The new updated list of vacancies includes number of vacancies, medical standard, age, educational qualifications, suitability of persons with disability, stages of examination.
Candidates had expected that the vacancies would increase in RRB NTPC, however surprisingly RRB NTPC has reduced the number of vacancies which is bad news for candidates. RRB is still deciding the posts as several of the posts are under consideration. Railways may scrap some of the posts and do way with them. Many of the posts are under revision and it looks like there is a downslide in number of vacancies offered by RRB NTPC.

While some of the posts have a change in vacancy, others do not have a change in vacancy. Lets see the number of vacancy in RRB NTPC. The Total number of posts for for RRB NTPC 2017 stands at 14023 from last years vacancy count at 18252.
Earlier on May 4, an official notification from RRB said that candidates who had appeared in the 2nd stage CBT were asked to fill fresh post preferences. This facility was opened to candidates from May 8 to 14. Now, as per the new noticification published on May 20, reads that the result of 2nd stage CBT will be processed on the basis of fresh preferences filled by the candidates.
The vacancies will be filled across RRB Ahmedabad, RRB Allahabad, RRB Ajmer, RRB Bangalore, RRB Bhopal, RRB Bhubaneswar, RRB Bilaspur, RRB Chandigarh, RRB Chennai, RRB Gorakhpur, RRB Guwahati, RRB Jammu-Srinagar, RRB Kolkata, RRB Malda, RRB Mumbai, RRB Muzaffarpur, RRB Patna, RRB Ranchi, RRB Secunderabad, RRB Siliguri, and RRB Thiruvananthapuram.
The next step of the selection process comprises of Typing Skill Test & Aptitude Test, wherever required. The list of shortlisted candidates for Aptitude and Typing Skill Tests will be published after the completion of the process.
The merit for the posts of Category No. 1, 2, 3 & 4 (Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice, ECRC & Goods Guard) will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in the 2nd stage CBT only. However, the final merit list will be published only after the conclusion of Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test for other posts.
RRB NTPC Mains Result 2017- Aptitude Test
RRBs will be holding the Aptitude Test for the posts of Category no. 7 & 8 (Assistant Station Master & Traffic Assistant). A total of 41,824 and 1,328 candidates will be shortlisted for Aptitude Test for ASM and Traffic Assistant posts respectively. The time duration of aptitude test will be 84 minutes. The candidates are required to qualify in the Aptitude test in order to be considered for final selection. The final merit for these posts will be drawn by giving 70% weightage to the 2nd stage exam marks and 30% weightage to Aptitude test marks.
Since the RRBs have decided to conduct the Aptitude test in online mode, the mock test has also been made available on the Indian Railways website.
RRB NTPC Mains Result 2017-Typing Skill Test
The typing skill test will be conducted for the posts of Category No. 5 & 6 (Jr. Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist and Sr. Clerk-cum-Typist). The typing skill test will remain qualifying in nature and a total of 1,384 and 1,536 will be called for the test for Jr. Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist and Sr. Clerk-cum-Typist respectively.
The qualification criteria in the Typing Skill Test includes 30 words per minute speed in English and 25 words per minute speed in Hindi on Computer. The candidates will be given 10 minutes for the test. The merit list of these posts will comprise of only those candidates who qualify in the Typing Skill Test and will be based on the performance in 2nd stage exam only.
