This year there are a combined number of 1,10,000 vacancies for various posts. Earlier, Railways had announced about 90,000 vacancies setting a record of sorts in Railway Recruitment, it has further gone ahead by adding 20,000 more vacancies to this and now the vacancy count stands at 1,10,000 vacancies. There are about 9000 Jobs in RPF and 10,000 Jobs have been added in L1 and L2 levels. Railways as an organization have set a world record with the Railway Recruitment Drive being held in 2018. Job Notification of RRB ALP, RRB Group D, and a few others have already been released. With the release of Job notification of L1 and L2 posts and RPF notification, the vacancy count will stand at 1,10,000.

1.5 Crore Candidates Register for Railways Group C and Group D Posts: 

A record number of over 1.5 Crore Candidates have registered for Group C and Group D jobs. It is going to be a tough fight this year among the candidates. Never has any recruitment drive ever had 1.5 crore candidates Primary registration is done by candidates with their name and address, payment of application fees is also part of the process. As of now, some of these candidates are yet to pay their application fees.

Railways Recruitment: Recruitment in RRB NTPC – As much as 92 lakh candidates appeared for RRB NTPC exam in 2016-17. There is very tough competition to get a job in railways. Unlike the olden days, when getting a job in railways was easy, today the competition is very high and only increasing day after day. One has to stay updated on all upcoming railway recruitment job notifications. Aadhaar is compulsory to apply for Railways Entrance Exams.

Also candidates wearing spectacles or lenses, suffering from Myopia, Hypermetropia are not allowed to work as Locomotive Pilot or in certain other technical posts like Engine Driver, Engine Operator, etc. According to official rules, candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery are not permitted to apply for Metro Recruitment or any Railway jobs that might require driving the train or providing assistance in driving the train. Rules regarding Vision are relaxed for posts and vacancies, where vision is not a necessary criterion. It is observed that several candidates interested in Railways are also interested in Metro Jobs as both are correlated.

A brief Introduction on Railway Recruitments or RRB in 2018:

    1. East Central Railways Apprentice recruitment 2018: East Central Railway has recently issued a recruitment notification for filling the posts of apprentice vacancy for a total of 1898 posts. Railway Recruitment Board in East Central Railways has begun recruitment of candidates for the post of Apprentice in Danapur, Dhanbad, Mugulsarai, and Samastipur divisions of ECR.
    2. Railway RRB Group D Recruitment 2018: Indian Railways has released notification for Railway Group D Recruitment 2018 for 62,907 Vacancies for various posts like track manager, track man, gates man, Pointsman, helpers in Electrical, Engineering, Mechanical, Signal, and Telecommunications Departments, Porter, etc. Recruitment process will begin on 10th February 2018 and will go on till 12th March 2018.
    3. RRB ALP Technician Recruitment 2018: There are 26502 Vacancies for RRB ALP Technician 2018. There are two posts, namely – Assistant Locomotive Pilot and Technician.
