How To Prepare for BSNL JAO Exam 2017? BSNL is inviting applications for the post of Direct Junior Accounts Officer. There a total of 996 Vacancies for the post of Junior Accounts Officer in the payscale of Rs. 16, 400 to Rs. 40,500. Candidates will be selected through online competitive examinations. Candidates must have qualification of M.Com/ Chartered Accountancy/ ICWA or Company secretary to apply for the post of Junior Accounts Officer. Exams for BSNL DJAO will will be held on 5th November 2017.

BSNL JAO is not very difficult, but critical for assuring good performance. There is not much preparation involved in Paper I, but there is a lot of preparation involved in Paper II and applicants will have to practice to chase time limits. It is important for students to make sure that they get the tips and tricks for faster performance in the exam.

The English Section comprises of 4 areas that you need to focus on:

#1. Grammar: The Grammar section comprises of questions asked from like tenses, articles, prepositions, degrees of comparison, subject-verb agreement, conjunctions, parts of speech, standard construction, adverbs, number in nouns, etc

How are Clauses used in Sentences?

Clauses can play a play role as grammatical connectors in a sentence by acting as a noun, adjective or adverb.

There are three types of Clauses: Noun Clause, Adjective Clauses and Adverbial Clauses. The clauses are known for the choice of words used. Use of nouns, turn them into noun clause, use of adjectives turn them into adjective clauses and use of adverbs turn them into adverbial clauses.

Reading comprehension

Reading Comprehension section is often time consuming. The BSNL JAO exam is an exam where time is very limited. It is advisable to divide your time appropriately considering the time that is given to you.

  • Fill in the Blanks (Double blanks)Idioms and Phrases: Let us look at the phrase A penny for your thoughts” It shows that you are asking what the other person is thinking. The English language has thousands of phrases, while some of them are more commonly used, others are less common in usage. The phrase conveys the message in a simple way making it open to interpretation. Another example of Idioms and Phrases – “Add insult to injury”. It means that to worsen an unfavorable situation by introducing a new problem.

    One Word Substitution: You need to find the right word to substitute lengthy sentence with a single word.

#4. Verbal Ability

1. The section contains questions on Para Jumbles, questions on paragraph completion. Para jumbles is usually a group of sentences that are jumbled up and need to be rearranged. You need to understand the questions in the right context to rearrange them.

2. Follow the sequence of the passage and keep the overall message of the passage and understand the story from the beginning to the end.

3. Look for indications and connecting words or conjunctions that connect the story.

4. Odd sentence out is another subject that will be asked in the Verbal ability section.

Preparation tips for General Awareness: Testing the knowledge of the applicants towards general environment and its application in society, Indian and its neighboring countries, History of India, culture, geography, Public Policy, Indian Economy and global scene, scientific research etc. Read Newspapers regularly, avoid gossip columns. Read editorials. It is advisable to refer books like Manorama Year Book or any Year Book. You must updated with Static GK and all latest in current affairs atleast from the past 6 months to 1 year.
