OICL AO Mains exam is over and it brings all aspirants closer to their dreams of working in the insurance sector. The mains exam was conducted in a single shift. Read on to know about the exam analysis along with sectional and overall cutoff of the exam, questions asked, the good number of attempts and changes introduced.

Examination Paper Pattern of Mains Examination
Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests were held online. Candidates had to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test was administered.
- Objective Test: The Objective Test of 2 hours duration consists of 4 sections (Generalists) and 5 sections (Specialists) for total 200 marks.

Quantitative Aptitude: Moderate Level
This section had 50 questions for 50 marks. The questions of Data Sufficiency were difficult to solve as they were from advanced maths. The level of Quantitative Aptitude was Moderate and there were 5 sets of Data Interpretation Questions. Following were the types of DI:

General Awareness: Easy-Moderate Level
50 Questions were asked from the General Awareness section.Most of the questions asked were from Insurance and Current Affairs based.
Some of the questions asked were:
- E-Pragati in Andhra Pradesh
- IRDA related question
- Capital and currency based questions.
OICL AO Mains Exam Analysis of Descriptive Test:
The Descriptive Test was of 30 minutes duration for 30 marks. It was English Language test comprising of l Letter Writing-10marks & Essay-20 marks. The descriptive text was in English and was be conducted through online mode.
The Descriptive test comprised of 2 Questions each from Essay writing and letter writing.

1. How to choose right kind of insurance for an individual?2. What matters are kept in mind while choosing this?3. Mutual Funds SIP Vs Whole life insurance for a child’s future.
- Letter Writing Topics:
(a) Letter requesting the change of name after marriage.
(b) Letter to a bank manager inviting him to your company to give an introduction about Insurance and convince employees to buy it.
