OICL or Oriental Insurance Company Limited had released notification for recruitment of 300 Administrative Officer Scale I as part of OICL AO Recruitment 2017.

Examination Paper Pattern:

Phase – I : Preliminary Examination

This is an online exam consisting of objective questions for 100 marks. Exam would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 sections – English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude.

Main Examination will consist of Objective Test for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be conducted online.

OICL AO Job Profile:

OICL Administrative Officer acts as the first officer and is a position of authority. OICL administrative Officer is involved in decision making. The AO is expected to do a variety of work like claim settlements,Underwriting, Risk assessment, Supervision of work done by assistants. Administrative Officers are also asked to perform risk assessment and verify the claim process if required. An Administrative Officer can delegate work to his team and oversees their performance. Most of the work is related to insurance policies that include both Life and non-life insurance. It also includes Health, Motor vehicles,Industries, Accident, Fire. Job roles may vary depending on the department, branch and more.

Job Location:

Selected candidates on appointment may be posted or transferred to any place in India as may be decided by the Company. Please note that most of the aforesaid vacancies are in Hubli region of Karnataka, the state of Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Mumbai and its suburbs. The minimum stay at the initial place of posting will be 5 years.

Probation: OICL AO Probation Period is 1 year. The probation period may be extended by another 6 months, which is a rare case. The probation period is a training phase for those who are directly recruited as Administrative Officer and various types of training is given during this period. Recruited AO’s are directed the pass the non-life “Licentiate Examination” conducted by the Insurance Institute of India. Candidates who pass the “Licentiate Examination” will be confirmed of services, those who do not pass this exam will be liable for termination of service.

Guarantee Bond: Candidate who are selected will have to give undertaking to serve the company for a minimum period of four years including the probation period. If candidate resigns from the Company before the aforesaid bond period of 4 years, they have to pay liquidated damages equivalent to one years gross salary paid to candidate during year of probation which could be reduced based on length of service during time of resignation.

Candidates resigning from the company during the probation shall also be liable to pay an amount of Rs. 40,000 in addition any other fines.

Salary and pay structure:

Candidate will receive a basic pay of Rs. 32,795 in the scale of Rs.32795-1610(14)-55335-1745(4)-62315 and other admissible allowance as applicable. Total emoluments will be approximately Rs. 51,000 Per month in Metropolitan centers. Officers are also entitled to accommodation provided by OICL.
