The National Institute of Design (NID) is one of the premium institutes in the field of design. Its three campuses are situated in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Bengaluru.

The deserving applicants will get admission based on their performance in Design Aptitude Test (DAT), Studio Test & personal interview.

  • NID Application Form will be out by the last week of September 2019.
  • Interested applicants can apply through the official website of NID. The closing date of the NID Online Application Form is the second week of November.
  • The maximum age of the candidates must not be more than 20 years. There is a relaxation in the age limit of three years for reserved category candidates. This is for only undergraduate candidates.
  • For postgraduate applicants, the maximum age limit of the applicants must not be above 30 years, with relaxation in the upper age limit of 3 years for reserved category applicants.
  • Courses offered by NID in 2020 is Des (Bachelor of Design), GDPD (Graduate Diploma Programme in Design) and M.Des (Master of Design).
  • Now you can edit your NID application form online. NID has introduced a new facility to correct your application form.
  • Only those applicants can edit there form who have successfully registered for the entrance exam before the date and paid the application fee for NID DAT UG & PG 2019- 2020.

NID ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria for NID entrance exam for BDes/GDPG Course states that candidates who have passed or who will be appearing for their higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examination from any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce etc) from any recognized board  such as CBSE, IB, ICSE can also apply for the exam.

Candidates will find below the NID entrance exam eligibility criteria for B.Des & GDPD course admissions.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Both Indian & foreign nationals in overseas are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates appearing in their qualifying exam are also eligible to apply they have to provide their passing certificate at the time of admission.
  • Applying candidates maximum age can be 20 years as on 30th June 2020. SC/ST/OBC candidates will get 3 years of age relaxation while PwD candidates will get 5 years of age relaxation. This is for BDes/GDPD COURSE.
  • From Des COURSE candidates maximum age can be 30 years as on 30th June 2020.SC/ST/OBC candidates will get 3 years of age relaxation while PwD candidates will get 5 years of age relaxation.

For B.Des & GDPD Programme

  • There is a prescribed upper age limit of 20 years as on or before 30th June 2020. There are 3 years of age relaxation for the reserved category.
  • Candidates who have passed/appearing (10+2) exam from a recognized educational board are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who are appearing in there qualifying exam have to submit proof of there passing there qualifying exam at the time of admission.

FOR THE M.Des Programme

  • There is a prescribed upper age limit of 30 years as on or before 30th June 2020. There are 3 years of age relaxation for the reserved category.
  • Candidates who have passed/appearing a bachelor’s degree in any discipline under the 10+2+4 (or more) system are eligible to apply.

OR

Diploma in design under (10+2+4) system.

OR

Candidates who have passed there bachelor’s degree in any discipline before July 2019 under the system 10+2+3 are eligible to apply.

HOW TO FILL NID APPLICATION FORM

NID Application Process is an online process involving 4 steps. Given below is a step by step guide to apply online for the exam:

SIGNUP/REGISTRATION

  • Students can obtain the application form through online mode only by visiting the NID official website, i.e. www.nid.edu
  • Fill the application form by entering the information like Mobile No., email ID, Date of Birth, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Qualification details etc.
  • After entering the details, students are required to upload their scanned photo and signature along with the other required documents.
  • Now save all the information to complete the registration process.

FILL IN THE PERSONAL DETAILS

  • Like candidate name,  father name , mother name, place. Permanent address , country name, education qualifying

UPLOAD YOUR DOCUMENTS

APPLICATION FEE SUBMISSION

  • To obtain the application form, candidates have to submit application fees it can be paid online & offline both.
  • Candidates can pay online the application fees via credit /debit card.
  • Candidates who want to pay the application fee offline they have to pay via Demand Draft drawn in favour of  ‘ALL INDIA MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION’ payable at New Delhi.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR NID APPLICATION FORM 2020

Important documents that should be with you before registration and application form filling are as follows-

  • Scanned copy of passport size photograph under 100 KB. Photograph should be in JPEG format.
  • Scanned copy of the signature of under 100 KB in size. Signature should be in JPEG format.
  • Caste Certificate for the Candidates of SC/ ST category issued by competent authority. The certificate should be in JPEG format and under 150 KB in size.
  • Candidates applying under persons with disability (PwD) category are required to upload their disability certificate issued by a competent medical authority. The certificate must be in JPEG format and under 150 KB in size.
  • Overseas candidates should upload the first and the last page of their passport clearly showing all of their personal information. The document must be in JPEG format and under 150 KB in size.
  • Debit card/ Credit card/ net banking details for fee payment.

DETAILS ASKED IN NID APPLICATION FORM

  • Firstly, they ask to LOGIN by entering your E-mail Address & Date of birth.
  • Then you have to fill some personal information like father name , mother name, place , address, education qualifying, which course exam you want to give etc.
  • After entering all of this information you need to upload some of your documents like – your passport size photograph and scanned copy of your signature on white paper.
  • Then the last step is to pay the fees of the exam as per category and course via online or offline which ever you want.

How to edit NID Application Form 2020?

If a candidate has made any mistakes while NID Registration 2020, one can follow the steps given below to correct the same in the stipulated time:

Step 1:

Log on to the official website of National Institute of Design.

Step 2:

Fill your Login Credentials- NID Registration No. or Enrolment ID and Password.

Step 3:

Click on ‘Submit’ Tab

Step 4:

A new screen will appear and there you will see a link relating to NID 2020 Form Correction’.

Step 5:

Click on the link and make the required corrections and then save the details.

How to retrieve your password of NID application form 2020?

Candidates need not have to panic in case they lose their application number or forget the password.

Follow these methods to retrieve lost application number and password:

  • In case you lose or forgot your Roll Number, you should visit the official website where you filled the application form of the examination
  • Check carefully on the website, there will be a link for recovery of password
  • Click on “Forgot Enrolment ID”. Then provide mobile number and e-mail ID. The enrolment ID will be sent  to you via SMS/Email.
  • If a candidate forgets the password, click on “Forgot Enrolment ID or Password?”
  • Click on “Request for an OTP”
  • Provide a mobile number, email ID and enrolment ID.
  • Candidate can reset the password with the help of OTP received via SMS.\
  • If a candidate forgets enrolment ID and email ID/mobile number and payment has not been made, he/she must re-register

Application status of NID 2020

The procedure to know about NID 2020 Application form status is as follows:

  • Firstly, you have to visit on the official website of the National Institute of Design
  • There is a link for Admission in the bottom side of the home page
  • When you click on that link, you will reach a new page, named the Graduate Diploma Programme in Design.
  • Click on that page.
  • For already registered candidates to know about their Application status put your Name, Registered email- id/ password.
