NCHMCT is National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. NCHMCT is a sovereign body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. It conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which is commonly known as NCHMCT JEE every year.NCHMCT JEE is conducted to offer admission to aspirants in hospitality and hotel administration programmes. NCHMCT JEE 2018 Pattern

Duration : 3 hours

The exam is bilingual.

The question paper is for 200 marks which are bifurcated as follows:

  1. Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude- 30 marks
  2. Reasoning and Logical Deduction- 30 marks
  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs -30 marks
  1. English Language -60 marks
  2. Aptitude for Service Sector -50 marks

For every correct answer in the above i to iv section, each question is awarded one mark and there in negative marking of 0.25 marks.

Section v Aptitude for Service Sector, graded marks are awarded. It is as follows:

  • The most appropriate answer  carries 1.00 marks
  • The next appropriate answer carries marks
  • For the wrong answer – 25 marks are to be deducted.

The aspirants have to report at their examination centre at least 60 minutes before the commencement of the examination.The admission is allotted only through NCHMCT JEE ranks.

Be in NCHMCT JEE or any other exam, the aspirants should delineate about the subject, syllabus and exam pattern. We have to make our timetable with circumspection. Questions for 30 marks are asked from this section. Many aspirants consider maths as the most difficult section. Relax dear aspirants. Questions are asked only of high school level. As it is rightly said that Maths is not about numbers, equations, computation or algorithms, we have to understand it. Once the concept is clear Maths is a cake-walk. Questions for 30 marks are asked from this section. Reasoning and logical reasoning is one of the most important sections. As many aspirants will be coming across the subject for the first time. So we have to devote more time and excel ourselves. Few of the important topics are Alphabet Test, Data interpretation, Syllogism, Symmetry, Visual Ability Analytical Reasoning, Direction and Distance, Linear Arrangement, Complex Arrangement, Coding and Decoding, Series, Blood relations, Symbols and notations, etc.

NCHMCT JEE Preparation Tips for General Knowledge & Current Affairs:

Questions for 30 marks are asked from this section.  GK is one of the crucial sections.  We have to keep ourselves updated with the latest current affairs, happenings etc. Reading newspapers and magazines are one of the basic preparations for GK. It does not mean filmy masalas. There are many mobile apps which can be downloaded and made the best use of. Some of the GK topics we should brush upon are Books and authors Famous personalities, Currencies, Animals, Inventions and discoveries, Languages, Music, Dances, World organisations, Disasters, Statistical data of the World, Prizes and awards, Fashion Events, Solar System, Earth, Natural calamities, Sports etc.

NCHMCT JEE Preparation Tips for English Language:

Questions for 60 marks are asked from this section.  If we are a crackerjack in the English language this section is just a doddle for us.  Reading newspapers helps us in building our vocabulary and polish our reading skills. Few of the important topics are English proficiency, Idioms and phrases, One-word substitution, Sentence formation, Rearrangement, Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Analogies, Spelling mistakes, Fill in the blanks etc.

NCHMCT JEE Preparation Tips for Aptitude for Service Sector Section

Questions for 50 marks are asked from this section. This section is divergent from the rest of the sections. NCHMCT aims at testing the interpersonal and moral skills of the aspirants. Personal Judgements play a very crucial role here.

Previous Year Question Paper and Mock Tests

Attempting previous year question paper and mock test within the time limit is one of the friends in need in exam preparation. It helps us to measure where we stand and triumph over our blemishes. Practicing mock tests and previous year’s papers is the best way to study for the NCHMCT JEE.  We have to attempt at least 10-15 previous year question paper and mock rests.  Practicing will have a significant positive effect on the finale.
