IBPS SO Exam Pattern and Selection Process

The IBPS SO 2018-19 recruitment is out. A total vacancy of 1599  posts have been announced. As expected, the  Sectional Timing has also been introduced in the IBPS SO Exam Pattern.   1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Main Exam
  3. Interview

Latest Changes in IBPS SO Exam Pattern 2018-19

This year IBPS has introduced sectional timing of 40 min in Prelims stage. Due to introduction of sectional timing students will not be able to switch between the section. Therefore, now they have to give importance to each subject equally in order to clear the prelims phase.

The Specialist Officer recruitment takes place for different post. Hence, the exam topics are also different for these domains. You can find the detail exam pattern for two different domains given below. You must also remember that for both Prelims and Mains Exam, there is negative marking for both. For your every wrong answer, 0.25 marks shall be deducted.

The candidates have to qualify every section with minimum cutoff marks as well as attain the overall cut off  as decided by the bank. On qualifying, they will be eligible for appearing in the Mains Exam for Specialist Officer.

IBPS SO Final Selection

The candidates who successfully qualify the Main Round of Exam for Specialist Officer shall be called for the Interview Process. The candidates shall be receiving a call letter accordingly. The total marks alloted for Interview is 100. The qualifying marks in interview is 40% for general candidates and 35% for others. The Final Selection for IBPS PO shall be done on the basis of marks attained in Mains and Interview in a ratio 80:20. A candidate must qualify both mains and interview individually to get selected for the final list.
