IBPS PO is one of the reputed exams in the banking industry. IBPS has published 3562 vacancies for PO this year. The written exam will be held in the month of October and November followed by the Interview.

As per the latest IBPS PO notification 2017, the examination pattern for the IBPS PO Question paper in the the mains exam has been changed. According to the new examination pattern, there will be only 4 sections in the mains examination – Reasoning and Computer Aptitude will be a single section. The timings and marking scheme too have undergone a change and there will also be a descriptive section for testing the essay writing and letter writing skills of the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria for IBPS PO:

A candidate must be either –  

                          (1) a Citizen of India or

(2) a subject of Nepal or

(3)  a subject of Bhutan or

(4)   a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

                     (5)    a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit for IBPS PO Question Paper:

Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1987 and not later than 01.08.1997 (both dates inclusive)

Selection Process for IBPS PO Question Paper:

There are three phases of exam and candidate has to clear each level of exam to go to next round till final selection.

  • Phase I – Preliminary Examination
  • Phase II- Mains Examination
  • Phase III – Interview Round

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks in each test. Candidates have to clear both sectional cutoff and overall cutoff in order to be selected in the next level of exam. The objective based test has a negative marking scheme of ¼ th marks for wrong answer.

The IBPS PO syllabus 2017 is as follows- This time, the examination paper pattern for IBPS PO Preliminary examination remains unchanged. However, there will be change in the examination pattern of the mains exam. As the Computer Aptitude and reasoning are now combined. Previously, the computer aptitude or computer knowledge was a separate paper and candidates had to write the paper separately. However, now there are no 5 papers in the IBPS PO Mains exam as Computer aptitude is now combines with the Reasoning in the IBPS PO question paper.

Pre-Examination Training as per IBPS PO Notification 2017

Pre-Examination Training for IBPS PO Exam for IBPS PO Question paper 2017 may be arranged by all participating banks to a limited number of candidates who belong to SC/ST or Minority communities at specific centers

IBPS PO Exam 2017 – Venue Details

1. The Exam venue for the IBPS PO 2017 Question paper will be conducted online across many centers in India

2. IBPS PO exams centers given to candidates will be final and no request for changes will be entertained

3. IBPS PO Centers will be limited to centers that will be alloted to students beforehand.

IBPS PO Exam 2017: Allotment

Candidates who are shortlisted after interview will be provisionally alloted to any of the participating organizations based on merit-cum-preference.

IBPS PO Question Paper : Cut off Scores

Corrected Scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions of IBPS PO Exam will be normalized using equi-percentile method. Scores up to two decimal points will be taken for the purpose of calculations.
