IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern 2019

Candidates who clear the Sectional & the Overall Cut off in the Preliminary IBPS Exam are eligible to appear for the Mains exam. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has introduced Major changes in the paper pattern for IBPS Bank PO Mains Exam. Changes introduced in the IBPS Bank PO Exam Pattern for Mains has been mentioned below

1) New Descriptive Paper Added: Similar to the SBI PO examination, candidates will be required to give a descriptive paper to judge the writing skills of the students. In this section, students will be asked to write a Letter & an essay on any given topic.

This section will carry a total of 25 marks & the total time allotted is 30 minutes. 

2) No separate Computer Application paper will be conducted: The Computer Application has been merged with Reasoning and this section will have 45 Questions and a total of 60 marks.

3)Sectional Timing & Overall Time has changed: The IBPS Mains exam will be conducted for 180 minutes + 30 minutes for the descriptive test.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern for Interview 2019

Candidates who clear the Mains Exam are called for a face to face interview session with Banking officials. IBPS conducts the interview to test candidates on their presentation, knowledge about Banking, Current Affairs & more.

  1. The Interview session generally lasts for 15-20 minutes.
  2. The exam will be graded out of 100 marks.
  3. Qualifying marks for the IBPS Bank PO Interview is 40% ( General Candidate)
  4. Qualifying Marks for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates is 35%.
