The first slot of IBPS Clerk PrelimsPreliminary Exam 2017 has been conducted successfully today that is, 3rd December 2017. This shift of IBPS Clerk Prelims exam was conducted from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. Now it’s the time for the exam analysis. The preliminary exam for IBPS Clerk was conducted online and had 100 questions for 60 minutes. Candidates need to manage these 60 minutes themselves while dealing with all the three sections- Reasoning Ability (35 Ques), Numerical Ability (35 Ques), and English Language (30 Ques).

The level of English Language was Moderate-Difficult. The topic for reading comprehension was based on a story There were no questions related to the vocabulary with Reading Comprehension. The Error Detection questions were of a new pattern where candidates were asked to find the part in the sentence that does not have any error. There were questions of (single) fill in the blank where two words would fit one blank and candidate had to choose among given set of words and identify the two words that would fill in the blank appropriately.

IBPS conducts the exam in 2 stages. In the preliminary exam, all the participating candidates must clear both the sectional and overall cut-offs. IBPS shortlists candidates who successfully clear both the cutoffs for the mains exam. The scores of the candidates in the preliminary exam will have no bearing on the final selection. It is just a screening test.
