Now, since you have a full-time IT job and want to prepare for SBI PO exam, we will be listing some worthy tips for you to follow. Hope it helps!

Do a Full Scan!

Assess and analyse your situation. Do the math and find how many hours you have on weekdays and weekends. On weekdays, you will be spending 9 hours at the office and, give-and-take, 1 to 2 hours travelling for work. Out of the remaining 13 hours, 8 hours will be gone in sleep-time. So, now you have 6 hours left. Around 2 to 3 hours will be used up in doing the day-to-day activities like eating, morning duties, recreational activities. No time left to study? No, you still got 3 hours at the minimum, left for your preparation.

And weekends, you got 24 hours! 8 hours in sleeping and 3 hours in day-to-day activities… In total, you got 13 hours for preparation. We know 13 hours a day is tough – but try to devote at least 6 to 7 hours on weekends.

Make a Plan!

Now that you have made a full assessment of your time, the next step you should take is to create a study plan. This will be extremely useful in your preparation. Make a study schedule that you can follow and stick to it.

SBI PO Prelims exam consists of Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, and English Language. And the Mains exam consist of two additional sections – Computer Knowledge and General (Financial) Awareness. As an IT employee, we presume that your basic Computer Knowledge will be at least average. So, you don’t need to stress much on this section.

Also, we expect your English Language skills to be good since you are working in an IT company and may have to interact with foreign clients on a regular basis. Hence, you can focus on this section less.

The most important sections you need to target are – Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, and General (Financial) Awareness. Give time to these sections everyday and on weekends, give some time to English Language and Computer Knowledge section as well.

What’s your Weakness?

Do a SWOT analysis and find out the topics you are weak in. Devote more time to these topics to improve on a gradual basis. Find the questions which you can’t solve and which are taking a lot of time. Practice these topics more and try to convert your weakness into your strength.

Furthermore, though socialising is a good trait, it’s advisable not to indulge in social activities or social media at all during those months. We are sure your friends will understand… Won’t they? If not, you need to be strong and stay away for a few months.

Practice, practice, and practice!

Practice previous year question papers and sample papers. But ensure to complete all the important topics before attempting these. Only after clearing the basic concepts and completing the course, it’s advisable to solve question papers.

However, you can always practice problems after you finish a topic. It will help you improve your speed.

Be Thankful!

We advise you not to ignore your current job while preparing for the exam. Know that it’s your means of livelihood. It’s something you can always rely on – if you, by chance, don’t clear the exam, you will always have that job. During those 9 hours of work, do not think of the exam – work as if your whole life depends on your work performance. And on weekends, do not think about office work – give your 100% to exam preparation. ‘Cause we believe it’s all about giving your 100% to everything, whether it’s office or exams or family.
