How Many Candidates applied for SSC CGL 2017 – Government job aspirants have given a good response to SSC this year with over 30 lakh candidates applying for the SSC CGL job.

The Commission has received a total of 30,26,598 on-line applications for Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2017. The window for accepting on-line applications for the said examination has been closed at 5.00 PM on 19.6.2017.

Last year the commission received over 38 lakh applications and this year the applications have seen a drop as you can see that the number of applicants have gone down by over 8 lakh. It can be assumed that several candidates either opted for private sector jobs or some of them simply applied for other examinations like IBPS to try their luck in banking or elsewhere.

The last date for applications was 16th June 2017. Howver, the SSC extended this date by 3 days for those candidates who were simply late to apply. Also this date was extended due to technical difficulties that the candidates might have faced while applying online.

The Staff Selection commission will release SSC CGL Admit card 2017. There are several regional and sub-regional offices in SSC – Western, North-Eastern, Southern, Kerala- Karnataka, Central, Eastern, Madhya Pradesh, North Western. These regional SSC’s will release admit cards in a few weeks before the exam. Applicants can download the Admit card with the registration number. The admit card that is downloaded will have al details about the exam centre and the date of the exam.

In 2015 alone, the number of applicants for SSC CGL were about close to 18 lakh. So it is quite evident that the numbers have seen a increase and more people are setting their eyes and SSC CGL is a job they want to have.

The Computer Based exam for SSC CGL 2017 is from 1st to 20th August 2017 as per official notification released by SSC.

How Many Candidates Registered for SSC CGL 2017 – SSC CGL Recruitment 2017

The Staff Selection Commission conducts the CGL for grade B and Grade C posts. The exam is held in 4 stages called as Tiers. Tier I and Tier II are online exams, while Tier III and Tier IV are offline examination. All details regarding the SSC CGL are communicated through the official website.

Time limit of Tier I exam is now 75 minutes, unlike erstwhile time of 120 minutes. Rules for Tier II will remain the same. There is no sectional Cut-off.

Important Points: The exam has a negative marking of 0.5 marks for every wrong answer. Visually handicapped candidates have a time duration of 100 minutes.

SSC CGL Tier 2 syllabus :

The objective test will be conducted online. There are 4 sections with 100 questions for a total of 200 marks.

Points to Remember:

Paper I and Paper II are compulsory for all posts. Paper 3 is only for the post of “Statistical Investigator Gr.II and Compiler”. Paper 4 is only for the post of Assistant Audit Officer. The Tier 2 exam has a negative marking scheme of 0.5 marks or half mark in Paper I, III, and IV. The negative marking scheme is 0.25 marks in Paper II. Questions in Paper I will contain 10th Standard level, while Paper 2 will have questions of Standard 12th level, while Paper 3 and 4 will have graduation level questions. The exam duration is 2 hours and 40 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped.
