Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test 2017: A person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher or Lecturer in any of the schools recognized affiliated to the Board of School Education, Haryana has to qualify the Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test. Qualifying in the Teacher Eligibility Test is made mandatory to ensure that teachers who are recruited possess the aptitude and ability essential to teach at Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary levels.

HTET or Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test 2017 is conducted for all the three categories of school teachers i.e. Primary, TGT and PGT.

All individuals who posses minimum educational qualifications required for teacher will be eligible for Haryana TET or HTET:-

  2. TGT : For those who want to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII
  3. PGT: For those who want to be a lecturer for classes IX to XII

Eligibility Criteria for Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test 2017:

  1. For Teachers of Classes I to V (Paper I) : Candidates should have passed Senior Secondary or equivalent with 45% marks with two-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ four years B.El.Ed or two-year Diploma in Education in Special Education are also eligible. Candidates who are graduates or appearing final years of tow years Diploma in Elementary Education.

  2. For Teachers of Classes VI-VIII (Paper II): Candidates should have a bachelors degree B.Sc/BA/B.Com candidates with two years D.Ed/B.Ed or 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education B.El.Ed/4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.) / B.Ed. (Special Education) With 50 percent in BA or B.Sc. Both Appearing & passed Candidates are Eligible.

3. For Lecturer of Class XI-XII (Paper III): Candidates should possess the Post Graduate (PG) Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university. Matriculation with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary / Graduation / Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects.

SCHEME : The duration of examination will be two and a half hours. There shall be only one paper having 150 ” Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)”
