A survey called “Study of Coaching Companies/Test Preparation and Entrance Exam Aspirants” was conducted from 2012-2015 and it was found that most of the engineering graduates dream a bank job in the central government. The BFSI sector or the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance sector seems to offer a lucrative career to many. This is the reason, every year; thousands of candidates appear for PO (Probationary Officer) jobs in various Government sector banks. SBI or the State Bank of India PO is one of the most aspired choices of those willing to make a career in BFSI sector.

What is a PO Rank?
PO stands for Probationary Officer. This is the initial Management Trainee officer level designation at the bank. This is the first level at which a candidate who aspires to be an officer, enters a banking sector. The reporting is directly given to the immediate senior.
Performance evaluation takes place throughout the probation period of a PO. Once the probation ends, this candidate becomes an ABH or an Assistant Branch Head (Scale-I Officer) in a bank’s designated branch. During the probation, the officer can be assigned to perform any role from a huge gamut of banking activities.
SBI PO Bank Job
Anyone who desires to be an officer in SBI should clear the PO examination conducted by the bank every year. Once selected, the candidate enters the Junior Management Level in SBI. The challenging assignments and opportunities awaits him/her in the bank. Some of the tasks that a candidate shall be designated with include rural banking, treasury, Forex, general banking and credit.
Salary of a SBI PO
A management trainee Scale-I officer at SBI gets a salary of Rs.16,900/- with 4 increments. Apart from this, HRA, DA, CCA are some of the benefits also enjoyed by a PO.
