CTET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) will conduct CTET exam and CTET 2017 notification will be released soon. The CTET exam is organized for aspiring teachers in primary and upper primary / elementary stages of central schools.

The eligibility criteria for CTET exam is prescribed by CBSE. Check below the eligibility for Central Teachers Eligibility Test(CTET).

CTET 2017 Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification for Classes I-V

Below are the recommended educational qualification for Primary classes:

  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent and must have secured minimum 50% marksand cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration)

Or,

  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with securing minimum 45% marksand cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration), according to the NCTE Regulations 2002

Or,

  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent testwith acquiring minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration)

Or,

  • Completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent testwith acquiring minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration)

Or,

  • Bachelor’s degree and cleared or appearing in final yearexam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration)

Educational Qualification for Classes VI-VIII

Below are the recommended educational qualification for Elementary classes:

  • Graduation degreeand passed or appearing in final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration)

Or,

  • Graduation degree with 50% marksand cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education

Or,

  • Graduation degree with 40% marksand cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education, according to NCTE regulations

Or,

 

  • Having Completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent testwith acquiring minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education

Or,

 

  • Those who completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50% marksand cleared or appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed

Or,

  • Candidates having Graduation degree with securing 50% marksand cleared or appearing in B.Ed program of 1 year duration

Age Limit:

There is no age limit for applying to CTET exam.

Some important Points for CTET exam:

  • Candidates aspiring to teach in Classes 1 to V should clear Paper 1.
  • Candidates aspiring to teach in Classes VI to VIII should clear Paper 2.
  • Candidates aspiring to become teachers at both levels including classes 1 to V and classes VI to VIII, will have to pass both the papers.
  • The validity of CTET score card is 7 years.
  • All the eligible candidates will receive CTET Admit Card/Call Letter by post.
