The National Law Universities provide seat-reservations for all the different categories (SC/ST/OBC/PH) of students who take the CLAT Exam. This article is all about the CLAT Participating Colleges 2020 which everyone must be aware about. All the NLUs possess their very own policies of reservation. Also, understand their Reservation Policies.

  • The counseling for CLAT 2020 will be taking place in an online mode
  • The CLAT Exam will be expectedly conducted in May 2020 in an offline mode
  • CLAT releases a total of 3 seat allotment lists for the purpose of admissions. The candidates can see the list on their official site i.e. clat.ac.in
  • The posterior list will be having the names of candidates who have been finalized and who have also deposited the counseling fee in the previous round with the names of waitlisted candidates
  • All the institutes participating in CLAT and their reservation policies which differ from each other are mentioned in this post

CLAT Participating Colleges – Reservation Policy 2020

The conditions of the CLAT Reservation Policy are taken into consideration and worked over at the time of the CLAT Seat Allotment or CLAT Counselling procedure. The categories of the candidates which are considered for the seat-reservation purposes are mentioned as follows:

  • Scheduled Tribe (ST)
  • Physically Disabled Candidates (PwD)
  • Scheduled Caste (SC)
  • NRI/Foreign National aspirants
  • Kashmiri Migrants
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC)
  • State Quota for the candidates in which NLU is located
  • Candidates belonging to the North-Eastern States

UG & PG Program Seat Break-up

All the National Law Universities divide the seats according to the categories of the candidates. The total number of seats offered in 2020 will be announced, soon. For 2019, a total of the seats released were approximately 2175. The seat-distribution procedure is being practiced by taking into consideration the category of seats which are mentioned below according to the year 2019:

  • A total number of All India Seats for the UG Course in NLU was 1308 in 2019
  • Last year, the total number of seats which were proffered to the aspirants of the state where NLU is situated was 621
  • Special Category seats which were available were a total of 235, last year

NLU Seat Reservation

The seats in different National Law Universities are segregated according to the category of the student applying for the CLAT Exam. The following table shows the distribution of the seats of 2019 according to the university and the student’s category. This year’s data will be soon updated:

NLSIU provides a one-year degree course in two branches. The names would be Business Law and Human Rights Laws. Last year, they have taken approximately 50 candidates.
