What are some of the major Changes in SSC CGL 2017?

SSC CGL can be abbreviated as Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate level 2017. SSC CGL 2017 exam dates have been announced. The official notification for SSC CGL is out and the Tier-! Exams are scheduled for 1st to 20th August 2017.

Some of the Major Changes to SSC CGL 2017:

  1. The Time Duration of Tier I examination is reduced to 60 minutes from the erstwhile 75 minutes as seen in the earlier editions of SSC CGL. There will be 100 questions in tier 1 examination for a total of 200 marks.
  2. The Upper age limit for several posts has been increased to 30 years and the age limit has been increased by 3 years for selected departments like CSS, IB, Railway, MEA, AFHQ, ITI, etc.
  3. CGL posts are now grouped under various categories like Group A, B, C,D
  4. Several new posts have been introduced for the first time in SSC CGL 2017. Posts included Assistant Accounts officer, Assistant in Serious Fraud investigation office and other ministries
  5. Cut off Date for determining the age limit and education qualification is 1st August 2017.
  6. Preference of Posts needs to be filled while submitting an online application for SSC CGL. You will also be requested once again to fill preference during document verification. This is considered as Final.

More Possible Changes likely to come for SSC CGL 2017:

  1. Change in Syllabus
  2. Common application for both SSC CGL and SSC CPO
  3. Tier 1 will be qualifying mark for Tier II, but not during final selection
